Weird symptom - rt knee coldness | Arthritis Information

On and off for the last week, my right knee has given me this feeling like it is cold and wet, but it isn't. The feeling is mainly over my kneecap.  Anyone ever hear of something like this?

A google search came up with just one lone guy who had this, and it turned out to be an MCL tear. I didn't injure my knee, and there isn't any real swelling or anything, so this doesn't sound right. Wrongdiagnosis.com gave a couple of possibilities (including deep vein thrombosis) but none of those seemed to fit either.

While I've had some minor problems with my knees (some RA-related, some not) including an osteo-chondral injury to the left knee, I've never had this before and the frequency of the cold feeling is increasing and annoying.  Just putting my hand over my knee to "warm it up" is enough to make it feel temporarily better, but unfortunately I cannot go through my work day with my hand stuck to my knee.

Anyone else ever hear of this? I probably need to go to my ortho.

OK, no sooner did I post this, then I got up, started walking, and my right knee started hurting, almost a burning feeling.  Sitting down relieves the pain and burning, but not the coldness.

Still no swelling, no bruising, no injury.  What gives?

I don't know but it could be a nerve problem. That can give a cold, wet feeling. I guess I'd see the ortho first though because it is probably easier to tell if its muscle or whatever problem than if it is neurological. But  if he doesn't know maybe try a neurologist.
