I realize that jaw claudication can be a sign one may have GCA but I am not sure what that is exactly.

When I saw the Rheumy's PA last week I told him of my jaw problem and he said right away TMJ.

Well I have had a bit of an offset jaw for years now.

It does not cause me pain or trouble.

But recently, in the mornings especially, my jaw does not want to open. Does not hurt bad, but you feel like you don't want to push it either, or force it.

It feels like one of those pictures you see on tv of a snake that unhinges it's jaw to eat. To funny I know.
But it's like that. I wiggle it back and forth and try to open it on that one side to get food in my mouth.

It feels very stiff and like it would lock up. Muscle or tendon kind of thing.

Well, just wanted to know if any of you have this kind of problem too?

KewaneeJaw claudation I think is more like pain. Especially while eating .Yours sound like it is stiff probably related to the stifness one gets with PMR I'm bringing this up this Mon. with my Rheumy. I would like x-ray to be sure what is going on there.

Mornings are the worse.

Always something!
