I havent had neck problems since I was first dx'ed and wham, the last few days progressively at night, i have not been able to move. I cannot turn my head side to side its so bad. The pain was so bad, it makes me cry.
I called the doc TWICE for pain meds, and they did NOTHING - so angry about that.
then i google it, and it says that neck flares can cause death because it damages the spine
Is this true!?? Has anyone else had a flare up in their cervical spine (it feels like right where the neck connects with your head) -- and their collar bones?

Hmmm, I have had neck pain for several months now--but just assumed it was from sleeping odd or something? Didn't realize neck pain could be the RA also...Mine is more near my ears---kind below and to the back a bit. But it hurts to try and look to the right or left.
Sorry I don't have much advice/info for you---I'm too much of a newbie! Sorry you're in so much pain!! Why won't the DR give you something for the pain???!!

Hi, it can surely be RA, I had sever neck, shoulder and down the arm pain, during my worst days (Jan-feb), prednisone did help, can you stay with the 10 for a while? When you say 5-10 do yu take the ten sometimes? I took 15 and couldn't live without it. Got down to 5mgs, now at 10, again.sarahI have some pain in my neck. I hear crunching sound in the top part I think T 3 and 4. I can only turn my neck certain ways. I try and exercise every morning by doing left and right turns. Good luck.
