Arthritis Information -Chantix Drug pain warning!

I came across this site while trying to get more information for myself. After deciding to take Chantix to quit smoking I followed the steps exactly as decribed. I read and re-read the literature so I knew what to expect. I never expected what I got. I only found out afterwards that many many other people were experiencing the same thing. After quitting smoking (the drug worked great) I began to suffer numerous joint pain type complaints. My back hurt pretty similiar to times before (arthritis, disk problems, etc) but not like this. This time it was worse, came on slow and felt like flu suddenly. It just kept getting worse. When I came across some messages on wrongdiagnos.com I was beside myself with fear. I quit the Chantix right away and the pain has not stopped or subsided. For any of you thinking about taking Chantix please read some of the posts on that site first. Anyone who already has the pain of arthritis like many of you have, obviously, do not deserve nor need additional pain just because you are also trying to quit smoking. If you are like me, the doctors have also probably told you that quitting would help your pain. Think again....read these posts before you take Chantix.

Hi Candice,

I'm taking Chantix to quit smoking.  I haven't noticed any difference in my RA pain.

I re-read your post and did not see where you posted the web site for the information you mention.  Could you do that?  I would be interested in reading that
