Has anyone tried glucosamine for help with flexibility in the joints? I started a couple of days ago per someone's good word. Just wondering if anyone with RA or JRA had used it successfully or if there were any adverse effects that I should know about. Thanks!!

Tried it, takes several weeks to maybe feel the effects. It is not a cure by any means, may help. It is unregulated so when in the mix of other RA drugs, you do not know the outcome.

I am currently taking Glucosamine. I started taking it 2 weeks back but have heard that it takes a while to help as Lydia said. Not entirely sure whether I will see any difference as my medication seems to be doing the trick right now but its worth taking all the same. It is suppose to maintain and repair the cartilage around the joint so if it is true to what it reads on the label it is worth us with RA to give it a shot. xJust whilst we are on the topic of supplements. I'd also reccommend a daily cod liver oil capsule preferably the one that is combined with primrose oil. I take that too! My aunt has mild arthritis and swears by it! x

Take it. My brother in law is 53 and had been a tylenol addict for about 12 years because of old motorcycle injuries that made one leg shorter than the other and various backproblems as well. He's been on it for a couple of years now and swears by it. He only uses tylenol every so often instead of every day. I've been on it now for about a month and I feel the difference, especially in my hips. Oh,....and you can get some for your dog too! Any pet store will have it now. My 9 yr. old dawg is acting like a puppy again.

Peace

Ive used it for years and been off it a couple months and I dont notice the difference. And when I asked my RD if I should continue taking it she said "save your money, it wont do anything for you". *shrugs* It might be different for you though so it wont hurt. Good Luck. My Rheumy's attitude is supplements will not help with the ra DISEASE AND SAVE YOUR MONEY.  She won't let me take any supplements with my meds unless she "BLESSES" IT.

I use it but mine comes with MSM.  When I ran out of it, I could tell a difference.  My doctor said to go ahead and use it as it would not hurt.  I am on MTX.  I figure why not try it.

thank guys....I think I will try it....I guess the effects vary with each person. I don't really like taking a lot of medications because I am very prone to stomach sensitivity so I'm will to try anything natural and not as harsh...thanks!
