MTX Blues.... | Arthritis Information

I know we all complain about this medicine at some time or another.

I am so drained today...It is getting so hard to keep my eyes open.

And on top of that...I am at work right now, which is NOT working.

I work in accounting and so you have to have a clear mind to be on top of the numbers game.  IT AIN'T WORKING TODAY...

My brain is foggy, I am tired and week...and this underlying nausea is the pits. And the MTX headache...MAN!!!!!   The Phenergren has been giving me a slight headache every since I was taken it.  I have to take a Tylonel with it so it won't get real bad.

The shots are a bit better and the phenergren has been helping loads with the nausea.   BUT the DAY AFTER...is the DARN PITS!!!!!!!!!!!

I guess I will take it easy today and not push to hard.  I am so wiped out...there isn't more I can do about it.

I will have to take a nap at lunch time...I am not sure I can last all day without one.  Even after laying down at a decent time after treatment...I am STILL dragging.

The things we have to do to feel decent -

willwin239211.2853472222Sorry to hear you are not feeling well, especially at work.  Can you try to do your shots on a weekend so you can rest the next day.  When I was doing the mtx, I would do it Friday night.  It stinks to be tired for the weekend but its better than trying to work when you feel like a zombie! Just a suggestion, I take Musinex (the cold medicine) twice the day before, twice the day of and twice the day after (2 each time) my MTX shot. MY rd said to try this and it really does help with the fatigue and the brain fog. Some cancer docs even recommend this for their chemo patients. There is a chemical in it that counteracts some of the bad side effects. Robitussin will also help but I think it tastes nasty! just a suggestion. take care

Even after being on it for years; I still take mine on the weekends so that I can be at home and rest while I'm not feeling good. I've adjusted quite well to the MTX and although my symptoms are rare now; I still need an afternoon nap the next day. I find it hard to go to work on the weeks I've had to take mine on Sunday instead of Saturday on occations.

Maybe try to switch your schedule around.

I don't know how long you've been on it but I had the same thing the first 6 months on mtx, but it gradually subsided. (Also, I think the abx is really helping me with brain fog and fatigue.)
