I am being placed on Valtrex, for viral infection. I thought there weren't any viral infection products? DX: herpetic gingivostomatitis, with cervical lymphadenopathy - unreal. I like this new MD, alot.
Hi, Yes there is viral meds out there, all flu meds are antivirals, antibiotics don't work for viruses. I keep Zovirax for fever blisters (herpes simplex I think) and its great. Lorster would probably know more about it, she's a nurse......Genesis
Genesis - I am blown away by this new MD. This new DX is a childhood disease and my symptoms started early, but I never was looked into because "everybody" gets cold sores, etc. And I never knew what was going on it since started so early with me, except it was scary and I didn't talk about it. And this DX leads to my RA, lupus, everything. We are infected with a virus? I was positive we have been told there are no treatments for viruses. Maybe thats just American medicine talking. My head is spinning, I am going to read a good novel and clear out my brain, which needs a rest. LOL Now I am on a specially-compounded "Magic Mouthwash" - I love this new MD.
