Hi Guys,

Just incase you did not read the post entitled "Chat room?"

Well, GUESS WHAT I found AI's chatroom!!!

It is kinda hard to get into. BUT it is there!!

Here http://64.85.20.108:8329/

When everyone figures out how to get into chat, maybe we can do scheduled chats!

Groovy. I'll check it out.

Thanks Joonie!!

Has anyone else tried to get into the chat room? If so, are you having trouble getting into the chat room? Or having trouble with the java applet loading?

It loaded up ok but said that in order to enter I need a password! Did anyone else have this problem? x

Super Jooniper! I had a bit of a hard time, but I think I made it in, it said "welcome Monk". It did have this pop up asking for a password and didn't like mine, anyway I closed that window and it looked like I was in. No one else was there however. I'll check back in a bit. Oh yeaaa, I'm so excited to chat with you all.

Peace

hey everyone... im having the same problem as jenna !

Hi guys,

Mine said Java something or other could not be loaded

first one in let us know what to do (I know it won't be me

Folks this is the old AI chatroom.  The reason you can not get in it is due to a problem we have been having with a hacker I will have to ask the others if I can give you the password.  If I get permission I will email the password to each of you.  meme

                                     Thanks Meme!

Well, meme that was what they had it linked to on the home page.

Me & Lovie were in there chatting earlier today.

As, for the java problem I am working on that.

GREAT! WOULD LOVE TO JOIN IN AS WELL ONCE
YOU GET THE OK TO SHARE THE PASSWORD.

THANKS...AND HAPPY ALMOST FRIDAY

TARA L

yea, Joonie and I were in there. It did ask me for a pass word, but like Monk I closed the box and I was in. I just used my AI screen name and password.

I don't have much time to chat today during the day...but I'll try to look for you guys later this evening.

Looking forward to it.

Oh; PS I did PM the admin about it but he hasn't checked in since the 4th I think. Eventually he'll be around and will be able to clue us in on our problems I'm sure.

Meme; add me to the list of password needers...if we do in fact need one.

Hi Guys!

Like lovie said you can get in the chat, you just cannot get in the main chat room.

http://64.85.20.108:8329/login.htm?  <<<<-----That is the link to login with a username and password.

Another box will open asking for a password, just press cancel. and then look towards the bottom for someone who is in a room and just click on that link. Then you will be in and ready to chat!

If you are having trouble with it loading the java appelet...well I have yet to figure out how to fix it, BUT I will keep looking for a fix.

For the members who are having java applet problems.

Go to this link --> http://www.permadi.com/java/qa.html

Maybe something there will help you fix the problem.

Let me know if it fixes your problem!

                                   I still can't get in

try this chatroom just follow the instructions to get in http://www.chatsensations.com/chat2/chat7.html   meme

ps after you type your name, click on the arrow and little yellow circle at the bottom of the screen

meme38547.6851157407I hit the link and it bounced me to the page where it said "guest" and I just hit enter without trying a password or anything. It bounced me into the main chat room with another window asking me for a password, I just hit the close window on that one. I then hit the "options" button on the left pt of the screen, that put me into a place where I could set up my user name and password. I have been back a couple of times and it's worked for me. No chatters but hopefully soon. Good luck all.

Unfortunatly I'm having trouble logging in from home. I'll look for you guys if I get a chance when I'm at the office.

Sorry

Your link is a different chat room. Which one are people going to? FYI the instructions I just posted were for the first one one this thread.

K, so now I'm confuse!  LOL, but seriously, ????

if someone can just give the exact error ya'll are receiving I might be able to figure out what is up.

I know it is applet load failure but what exactly does it say?

Or better yet can someone give me a screen shot of the chatroom on your screen?

You get a screen shot by pressing the Print Scrn key next to the F12 button on your keyboard and then open up Microsoft Paint and click Edit at the top and click on paste and then you will have a copy of your screen in Paint. then resize the pic and save it and upload it.

I hope we can get this figured out.

If not we might go with that one even though it is not connected to AI like a few of you would like.

This chatroom is part of the website that KJ and Kelly, who originally had this website, before they sold it, have.  Alot of the old people who couldn't get into the old chatroomgp here.  It is a chatroom for people with arthritis.  I am just suggesting it if it will help people to be able to chat with each other.  Several of the people who post here have used that chatroom.  memeOh ok Meme! We'll see if Jealousy, Pam S and the few others can load up the chatroom. If so, maybe that will be our chatroom!!!!!!

I wanna join the chat room to, havent been on the borads since Wed so didnt know we had a chatroom to be on. I would like to see if my computer will allow me to get into the chatroom. Now how do you do it again Im a little slow?

This is the chatroom that meme posted.
http://www.chatsensations.com/chat2/chat7.html

See if ya'll can load up this chatroom. If everyone can we will chat in there I guess. Unless anyone has any objections to it?

When everyone confirms they can enter and load this chatroom will we see about getting chats scheduled. Who wants to be in charge of that...scheduling chat times? anyone?

Hope we all can chat soon!!!

June

y'all may wanna check with kj and kimmy if your gonna schedule a chat in the chatsensations room.  i am sure they won't care in any way but since they set it up it would be nice if they know.
as meme said there are two chatrooms because the one linked to on the ai pages has been repeatedly hit with hackers.  when kj and kimmy sold the site, they created another one and added a chat room.
for those with java issues and who run firefox as a browser, i've been trying for months to fix that issue...nothing works.  i have to use IE to run any chat software.  just a heads up on that.

Wayney;

this chatsesation chatroom was made by another person not Kj and Kimmy we were having too many problems with the chatroom KJ and Kimmy try to set up.  This is by another person who has allowed us to use thos chatroom for free.  meme

ok meme...i thought kj and kimmy had matrix set it up.

Meme, thanks for the message!

Is it for the chat sensations room? I'm gettin confused with which link to use!

  Hello everyone,

I just tried out the chat room that jooniper's post linked to and it worked.  I was able to get on it.  Took a bit of messing with it but I got on.  It looks like it has free access to users.  Some one by the name of "Matrix" had a welcome note posted on it and my name "waddles" show'd up in the room.

Waddles

how about starting another chat room that is easier for everyone to chat in? does anyone know how to get it started?I've checked in a couple of times but nobody's home!!!

The former AI chatroom was owned by the previous owners of Arthritis Insight -- it is a very expensive chat vehicle.  When Kimmy and KJ formed their new website, the expense of maintaining the old AI chat was prohibitive.

The new owners of AI have evidently also chosen not to pay the hefty fees attached to it.  For some reason, the board still works.

However, if you downloaded Service Pack 2 for Microsoft, you will probably NOT be able to get into the old AI chatroom unless you find a copy of virtual machine and install it.  It has something to do with Java.

chatsensations:  This is a board voted on by members of Rheumorweb to be the official chatroom.  Matrix provided it for Rheumorweb (temporarily doing business as SpareRheum)

Here are some free Chat Room programs.

Some the Owners need to download to their servers and add to this site and some the members here can download to their computers and use...or...use on the internet, not having to download anything to a private computer.

http://www.chatzy.com/

No software downloads. Add a Group Name, send out link to it, then sign up for particular group, sign in and start using it. Then too, it may only be for Windows users.

http://chat-forum.com/

Free for website owners.  May be just Windows users also.

http://www.gcn.cx/

This is a nice global chat program but I only think Window users can use it. I think this one needs to be downloaded by the owners of this site, I am not to sure about how it works.

http://www.freejavachat.com/

This one allows most OS to use it. For Website owners.

The owners of Arthritis Insight, just need to check out as much information about them, as they can find before considering using these free programs.

If you would like to use the old AI chat room (that will work for some of you) enter anything into the request for password field.  That will automatically take you to the "JRA chat" forum -- and it isn't being used by anyone else.  Pick a password, any password -- personally, I like BrainfrogsI still really confused about which chatroom everyone decided to use? If its the AI one is it the link from the main page of arthritis insight. I tried getting into it a few days ago and it wouldn't let me in.

i've been in as well and it takes some work, but only been able to hang for a few min. we should schedule chat nites.

Peace
