Who still uses a knife to cut their food?

I do not I usually just stab the food and eat it like a cave-woman. Or I get hubby to help me out in the cutting department. But most times I just stab it and pick up the whole piece of food

No wonder we do not eat out much

take care, lv sarah

Sarah,

I do not even bother to eat food that needs to be cut up when my jaw is swelled and will not open to even get a finger pass my teeth or if I cannot brush my teeth because the brush will not clear my teeth. I have always had trouble getting things in my mouth. My jaw is most of the time swelled, stiff and like the rest of my body parts. I cannot chew gum, because it causes my jaw great pain and I have not been able to chew gum since I was 9 I believe.

I also know when my jaw has inflammation in it, because I cannot hear good out of my ears. I can hear the inflammation moving around and it causes me not to hear good, and then it also feels like my ear has something over it when I cannot open my mouth as wide.

My darling husband cuts my food for me before it is placed on the table.

Even when we are out, he will do it. I'd rather that, than dropping food all over mysef, the table & floor My hubby cuts my food for me too.  Otherwise I would either slice my fingers off or like Nini..have food everywhere lol.  People look at us kinda strangely when we go out to eat but I don't care.  I actually kind of like it.  Makes me feel special when he cuts my food for me.  Like he really cares.  Actually, one of my first "noticable" symptoms that caused me to seek medical attention was several weeks of not being able to actually cut up food without major pain in my fingers and hands. I still use a knife when I'm not in a flare but many days using a knife is out of the question due to pain. Husbands are great people to have around

Cutting things is exhausting..  when both kids want apples I'm abput ready to cry  by the time Ive peeled, cored and sliced the darn things

Joonie i have an idea for you!!!! You know those electric carvers they have that are really for carving turkeys?? You can use that to cut your meat.

And get a good free hand massage while using it to cut up my meat too huh?

I wonder if they have a battery operated one available.

hows that joonie?
