Finally taking a break | Arthritis Information

I had about 3 good days last week or thereabouts and then went back to feeling really sick. Today has been such a struggle. I have impossible deadlines right now because of a change in strategy on the part of the company.

I wrote the people involved an email at the start explaining that the additional work load and deadlines would mean I have to set aside certain other projects until we are past this. My boss said "good email - good idea", then this week proceeded to expect me to get it all done plus added more! I am so exhausted again. I told him exactly what would be done and what would not and pointed out that he had agreed to this earlier. He backed down of course. I have never missed a deadline no matter how little time there has been to get the work done.

I am doing absolutely nothing beyond work again. I feel really guilty but I'm staying home tommorrow. I just can't go another day like this, no matter how much I want to. Hopefully I will feel better by Monday. I am so disappointed at how short my good time was. Kids are home from college now and I am too tired to even have a real conversation with them. Didn't really need anything except to vent. It's nice to have a place to do that.

Laker

You do what you need to do for you Sweetie. You can only do so much and it will be better for the company if you take a day off and have the weekend to regroup and come back at a better place next week.

I'm not fimliuar with some of your meds. Which are DMARDS? Any? Don't you need some sort of disease modifying medication for your diseases? I know with RA if my medication is not quite right I'll get about 3 to 4 good days out of it and it's all down hill until I "Re-Up" my meds. I'm going through that right now myself.

I'm on MTX only after spending two years on Humira. I was doing great for a while but now after about 3 MAYBE 4 days after my dose I start to fizzle out slowly but surely and by Saturday it's not good at all.

Might be something to consider.

Get some rest. Hope you're feeling better after a long weekend.

Laker, I feel for you. I had so many days like this until about 5 months ago.
I ended up missing so much work. I'm surprised my employer didn't get rid
of me as I could not be dependable but they believed in me and now that I
have things in control. I am able to work all I want. Keep in mind that you
have to take care of yourself. Your employer needs to understand that you
have to do this in order to get back to being productive. Hopefully you can
do some of it at home without all the pressure. Good luck and keep me
posted.
