My ra mostly affects my hands, arms, shoulders. Does anyone else experience any hand cramping. I have noticed over the last several weeks when i am doing anything i will get a sharp painful cramp in my hands. any advice?Oh, yeah!! I was fitted for splints to wear at night just this week and it's supposed to help with that. I've only worn them for 2 nights, so I can't say that they work, but we'll see.
Definitely. When I go to bed, sometimes I use a low-tech solution...I roll up a folded washcloth into a small cylinder, and sleep with one in each hand...the shape gives my hands something flexible to rest against.
I have occasionally dropped things because my hand suddenly cramped or shot through with pain. Fortunately, that's not too often. The one thing that will do it most regularly...hitting the button to unfasten my seatbelt. Weird.
Hi, yes it comes and goes and moves around. weird is the word for W-RA, my fingers don't always work right so I hit the wrong keys typing, and drop cups and things ALL the time. We have a carpeted kitchen so I don't usually break what I drop. My fingers are really stiff (R Hand), today after playing golf. OH had a wonderful day yesterday. Got a 'birdie' even, for some reason I lucked out??? take the good days and enjoy them!! Now, I'm off to my art group and can barely hold the pencil and feeling like crap from the mtx last night. I have this problem with my feet. My doc. suggested for me to switch between taking a vitamin type Potassium one day and Calcium vitamin the next day. I still have a cramp come but they are not nearly as sevier as they were. Good Luck. CJames
Hi, I've had the same problem & just since I was diagnosed with the RA, so I guess it is related. (?) I've had cramps in my legs or feet for years, but never the hands. Mine will happen suddenly usually during the day. Maybe we're overworking our hands? Thanks for your responses. Any advice helps and I appreciate it.
