Pain management Injection: follow up | Arthritis Information

I got my shot this morning, not knowing quite what to expect.. I was directeed to what they call here "The BIG o.r." My sister came with to drive me home and provide emotional support. They had me dress in a couple gowns and booties, and then took me to a procedure room. There was a nurse and technixcian and my pm Dr. there.

He is a very ....interesting man...

As an example ...., the Dr. had soft classical music playing while he injected the SI joint then, when he showed me the nerve canal, changed the music to "15 years on the Erie Canal" I laughed myself silly.

He is an osteopath by training and following the injection, did a manipulation of my leg and that joint and I heard a strange pop.

I am amazed.. My entire right leg, from mid waist down no longer hurts. I can touch my knee and not cry..I can actually walk. I was able to nap without that foot spasming out of control. wow..

My hope is that by decreasing the pain, and thus my stress level, the Humira will have a better effect.. right now I'm feeling almost human..

Maybe I'll even post instead of lurking...wheeeeeee

Good for u honey, Im glad you found some pain relief. As a frined of mine said:

DRUG ARE A GOOD THING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Shawnie, I'll share.

I got the nerve block Thursday morning, Kept pretty quiet all day, couldn't drive etc, but noticed immediate relief.

yesterday was Humira day. I was hoping the nerve block would allow me to give the Humira a chance to really work and that is exactly what happened. I'm feeling far less pain, able to walk and feel awake and aware, full of energy. This is awesome. I painted part of my bathroom last night, and moved a SMALL piece of furnitre, lol. I think the increase in energy is probably the best part of Humira, and the nerve block makes it possible for me to walk without literally collapsing. YAYYY for modern drugs.
