Gold Therapy: So Last Year | Arthritis Information

Not sure why I feel compelled to bring this up as I was DXed a while ago, but
the weirdest thing about where I get treated is they still have a gold therapy
clinic. I'm happy to say I declined gold therapy on my diagnosis. Later I
found out that the gold stays in your body and when you get X-rayed you
can see all the flecks thoughout, so you're like a big bottle of Goldschlager.
Also, I read on ratemds.com where a woman went there and then her skin
permanently turned a weird silver metallic colour and now she looks like an
alien.Gold therapy is still on offer here in the UK through some PCT's. I think it's because Anti-TNF's are so expensive, they exhaust all the less expensive meds first. A big bottle of Goldschalger LOL!!!!  That was funny.  My rheumy never even mentioned Gold therapy for me.  I would think it is weird to put gold in my body.  All I keep thinking is...wonder if I would be worth my weight in gold?? LOL.  Ugh ok enough with the bad ones.  I;m moving on to other posts now lol.

I was never on the gold.........my RD skipped right over that and Kineret.

eeew, glow in the xray body......just think you shine from within!

I was on gold injections(myocrisin) for a year, they didnt do anything to improve symptoms or decrease swelling and inflamation, I suffered from terrible depression and mouth ulcers while on them, after i stopped them the depression lifted and my mouth returned to normal.Hubby used to joke that when i died he was going to have me melted down into a gold bar.......Out of all the drugs, and I've tried them all, I had the best results from gold. It gave me 8 years remission and no side effects even though I was on the maximum dose the whole time. Arava worked but got bad bowel problems. Methotrexate and Humira didn't work. Unfortunately the gold stopped working after 8 years and have found nothing to replace it.If I was on gold when I died I would be cremated and have my loved ones
pan my ashes for gold. What a send off!Hi, I believe I was 'offered' gold treatment, early on in my case. I can't remember why I didn't take it , probably the cost. sarahHey for those of us who were diagnosed before methortexate was approved for RA , before arava, before any of the biologics gold was the best we could do.  Now its been replaced by more effective meds but rest assured if you had no other choices gold would look damn good

Hi all,

I have been on gold shots since May 1982!! Have worked well for me! Absolutely no side affects. Everytime I get a shot, I say a prayer that they will keep working!!! Because of past cancer treatments, having part of a kidney removed, etc., RA says if the treatment stops working, I am SCREWED!!

We have a guy here in town that overconsumed colloidal silver and now he is
blue. You look at him and he looks dead. I thought he was cyanotic. I
guess metals will do that. No one knows why gold therapy works for some people, nor does anyone know why plaquenil works, but they both have antimicrobial properties, so perhaps they are fighting some kind of infectious agent.

I bring this up because if you're one of the people gold has been effective for, maybe antibiotic protocol therapy is the way to go for you!
