Well, tomorrow morning I am having revision surgery on my left knee so hopefully I'll be walking again soon. I've been on crutches since the middle of December because of the stress fracture just below my knee. Because of the disease and the meds I'm on, the fracture just isn't healing fast enough. My ortho told me I could skip the surgery and be on crutches for another 6 months and then there was no guarantee that I'd be healed enough to put my full weight on it. So I opted for the revision surgery which will replace the old prosthesis with one with a longer stem to go farther down into the bone to reinforce it. So after tomorrow, I'll no longer be dealing with the fracture, just the new prosthesis, so I should be up and walking again without those crutches soooon!!!
