Does anyone know where I can get infro on how you give yourself embrel injections sure click. I am sick of waiting for my rhemy to set a appt. up for training I am going to do it myself pretty soon. I have called them 2 times now and no one calls me back. I am getting very stressed out. He tells me to call them when I get the shots and I had them 3 weeks now and nothing back from them. I got myself down to 14mg of predisone and now I went into a big time flare and now I am baack up to 30mg. Joan

It should have come with a large packet that has instructions included.

I haven't ever taken Enbrel; but Humira came with a large packet which also included a DVD.

Did yours not?

This website has a demo you can watch.

Thank you all for the infromation. It says you should not do it with out training but how hard can it be right. I have to get started on it one of these days so I can get off predisone Thanks again. I'll see if I can get the guts tonight. Wish me luck Joan

If you haven't done the injections at all yet I'd say it's probable best if you wait on your doctors call. Call them back. Tell them your will to come down there and just have a nurse show you what to do but you need to get started.

He might not realize you're still waiting on you. When I was prescribed it my doctor wanted me on it right away. I imagine yours does too.

yea i think they want to have you do it in the office just incase you have an allergic reaction and also to make sure you are doing the shot the right way. I would definitly reccomend waiting to see the dr Please go in for the first time. I would be calling that dr. first thing in the
morning. There is no excuse for them to leave you hagning like that. I
was also under the impression that they were making sure you weren't
allergic. Plus I think it's also a health insurance thing.

beckyIt is totally unacceptable for them to not return your calls and fail to get you set up with instructions for such an important drug.  I would call again and ask to speak to the office manager.  If the receptionist or whoever asks why, tell them, and I think you will get some immediate attention.  We should not let our lives be ruled by inefficient, negligent or just plain arrogant medical providers.  We deserve better and they need to be called to account.  JMO, PatHow about your PCP? Could you call them and set up an appointment and let them show you how?I'd show up at the dr.'s office with the injection and demand that they have a nurse practitioner or someone qualified show me how to use it.

I didn't have to go in for the first injection; but my doctor and my nurse had spoken to me in great detail about it before I received it. It also came with detailed instructions including a video. (Remember; I took Humira not Enbrel) There was no concern from my doctors office about allergic reaction.

My husband and I did go in before my second injection because my husband wasn't comfortable with it. He wanted the nurse to show us exactly what to do. My nurse met with us on very little notice and lead my husband through the process just to calm his nerves. My husband did all of my injections for me. I'm a fraidy cat!
