Yes; that's basically what I see as well. Have you been having problems with your shoulder for a while and they found this?

Come over to the RA section of the board. There are a lot of members there that have years of experience with RA and they might know more about it than I do. I can't remember it being mentioned; but I might have missed it.

July 2nd is a long time to wait when you have such a troubling problem I know. I hope you won't be in too much pain during that time and I hope that the doctor will have a solution for you when you do finally speak with him.

Come join everyone in the RA section. There is a lot more activity in that area. This section doesn't get a lot of attention I'm afraid.

Thanks for the welcome Lovie.  I have had RA for 8 years and the research I did on line turned up very little.   Cystic is a progression of RA, occuring usually in men, where cysts form in and around the joint.  I imagine it like big blisters full of fluid.  That is all I could find on-line about it, except the affected joint likes heat.  Heating pad does give some relief from pain.   My doctor sent a letter saying we would talk about it my next appointment, but that is not until July 2.   Am on a waiting list for cancellations.  Was hoping someone on board had had similar problem.   Appreciate your concern!

Ruth

I hadn't heard of this before so I did a quick google search. Have you searched this at all Ruth? Often folks with RA or seronegative RA are dx'ed with this. Do you have a history of other forms of arthritis?

Sorry I'm not being very helpful. I did want to welcome you to AI. I hope we'll see more of you here.

A recent x-ray shows cystic degeneratice changes in my shoulder.   Have much pain and loss of range of motion.  PT with dexamethasone is not helping.  Any advice please?
