hot wax for hands | Arthritis Information

For the people that have used the wax,I am wondering whether to buy a kit and would like to know how much relief they are getting afterwards, i.e. is it a half hour relief or do they feel the benefits for a longer period.  I have used it one or twice at physio a few years ago and I can't remember if it's worth investing??? Thanks. Gill

My kids got me the homedics spa version from Bed Bath and Beyond for mother's day and I love it. It is safe to leave it plugged in all day and the size is good. I have small feet so I can even do my feet if I want. I use it in the evening and wrap my hands in towels and watch tv a while before bed and then I can fall asleep more easily. When I've done this mid-afternoon it seems the joint pain is less for the rest of the day but I'm not sure how long. It also seems to help the skin which is pretty nasty from pred.

It really does help, and you can do it whenever you want when you have one.  I bought a homedics one a couple of months ago and sometimes I forget that I have it.  I remembered yesterday when my hand was really painful and I must say it did make a difference.  It's very soothing. It really does help. If only there was a way I could maneuver to get my feet in it!

I have one too.  I use it in streaks, sometimes for a month straight and then I put it away for a while.

Mine is big enough to dip my 11 1/2 size feet one at a time.  Very nice and worth the investment.
