Thank you to everyone that has responded to my post.  I find myself checking this web site everyday now; I feel somewhat better to know I am in good company.  I had a scary situation today; I felt like I was having panic attack; only on sulfasalazine; maybe it was a hot flash.

My doctor doesn't think it is the meds; hope it doesn't happen again.

Is there any sure way to tell if you have RA?

Panic attacks could be brought on by the anxiety you are feeling, try breathing in a brown paper back slowly if it happens again.Rosebud, I'm glad that you are finding this board a place of "wanting to come back" to.  Panic attacks are scarey.  Pincushions advice is good stuff!  Keep posting and let us know how you are going. Hi Rose, I know what you mean. Panic attacks are scary, you think you are losing your mind?!  I'm having some very strange things happening to me lately. I ran a stop sign (probably one of those rolling stops?), Wednesday afternoon after my art group...dingy!!, and I keep mis-placing things and then I can't find them??(lost all of my water colors, and paint brushes, where are they???I'll go to my class tody and see if anyone has seen them as they aren't with my art supplies! and I need them!) I think it is this prednisone working on my brain , it makes you retain water, so thta can surely mess with your head. Seeing my (new) cardiologist at 11:00 today, so I'll ask him? They all know stuff like that we don't know. SarahhI Rose, I have had panic attacks and they are very scary, I can't tell you if my pred or my RA is causing my current brain fog, but welcome to the board, I know exactly how Sarah feels, I keep losing things, trying to be part of conversations and just completely lose the thread!!!!  Its embarrassing, but I tell people its just me and they'll have to get used to it, at least we have a laugh at it.  Regards Janie.

Glad you are here and please do keep coming back.

Hmm a sure way to tell you have ra?  I'm not sure about that question since we are all different.  Usually morning stiffness lasting more than 30 minutes...swelling in the joints, joints red and sometimes warm, and fatigue can all be key signs of ra.
