I woke up today feeling soooooo much better.  Kelsey is being reclusive and all my shows I taped I watched.  My reading comprehension is poor, even reading posts, but I tried reading my book.  It is great "The Earth Abides" but I was too distracted.  Anyway, I never used to watch tv but I do now.  I rent, rather Angie rents for me - movies.  Any good movies you want to share?  I never used to get bored but I tried to garden today and my wrists are not up to it.  I definitely have come back here too often today but that is how bored I am.

Speaking of wrists - I should start a wrist thread.  It is amazing how much you cannot do or how painful doing the simplest things when your wrists hurt.  Even simple hygiene.  Angie and I were brainstorming how to set up my shower to get the shampoo and conditioner out.  Then there are other private things I better not mention - but everything seems difficult when your wrists are in pain.  Also, don't you hate having to take the braces on and off all day to be able to function.  ARGH.

Oh, the best part of my day.  We have a pair of finches who built their nest in the rafters of the patio.  Eye level if you stand on top step.  The four fledglings hatched today.  Looking at their little mouths chirping for food - what a treat.  My entire life - what has made me happiest is nature.  I feel so blessed these rosey finches chose my home to have their babies.  My garden is turning into quite the wildlife refuge with all the birds, squirrels and racoons.  Not to mention my puppies, dogs, kitten and cats.  We are careful to put feeders high for the birds.  I love Oregon weather.  It is so mild.  I love to sit and look at the garden.  I have spent much of the day out there.

As far as the rest of the stuff on the board lately - it will die down.  Especially if I do not respond.

I would love a sticky thread just recommending good movies, books, etc.  When you have entertained yourself by being physically active all your life - you have to learn to entertain yourself once that is no longer possible.

In real life Christopher Guest is married to Jamie Lee Curtis.  He was in the movie "This is Spinal Tap" directed by Rob Reiner, which was also done in the style of a documentary - I think they actually call them mockumentaries.  Some of his others are "Waiting for Guffman", "A Mighty Wind", and most recently "For Your Consideration".  They are all funny, but "Best in Show" is my personal favorite!

Enjoy your finches - it is so amazing to watch them grow and develop.  I have a flowering crab apple in my front yard which has been filled with all different kinds of birds eating the little apples.  I particularly like the goldfinches - they are so brightly colored they look like some tropical bird.

Honey,  I heard of that movie and have not seen it.  GREAT.  I thought when I started this post I would have seen most of the movies as I watch one almost everyday

I love my finches.  I am hoping I can encourage other birds.  Oregon is a delight as the vegetation and birds are more than where I lived in N. CA.  I love to garden here as it does not get so hot so the plants just thrive.  I wish we had Cardinals.  My favorite bird besides Western Tanagers.  I think there are Western Tanagers here but I know Cardinals from Arkansas and Mexico.  Gosh they are gorgeous.  I have to be strategic, encouraging birds, as I have three cats but I am working on it.  I am also looking into wildlife for my pond.

Today I did not have fibro.  I am beginning to think my fibro makes my life the most difficult.  I think it is what takes all my energy.  My joints hurt today but I would have gone on an outing if I felt confident to drive.  I look forward to this summer going bird watching.

I will let you know what I think of Best of Show.  Thanks for the reply.  Rox

Rox - can't recommend any movies cos I very seldom go or get videos DVD's etc.  But I have to say I am pleased you are feeling better today!!
You are a trooper and a STAR!!  You go girl!
Hi Roxy - do not go to many movies but have seen Miss Potter and The Flying Scotsman recently - both good movies, a little on the light side but enjoyable to watch.
There was a thread here sometime over the last 2 months from memory on movies and it was good.   I mentioned The
English Patient as being one of my old but goodies that I
will hire out on DVD again soon. Am also going through a Rod Stewart's Great American Songbook DVD phase which has a mixture of the old jazz/blues songs plus some of his more popular songs - that and a glass of wine always cheers me up on a Sat. night.   May have to find another good music DVD soon so any suggestions along those lines would be great.   Also love the tribute DVD to George Harrison, is a double DVD & especially love the first one.   Is nice to hear others recommendations - I get overwhelmed with choice at times.
Kind wishes,

You probably already know about Norah Jones.  Love her.  Diane Krall is amazing.  She sings a lot of jazz standards.  I like "Mountain music" also.  Mandolin, fiddle and such.  I am tired but if you are interested, I will look at my music collection tomorrow and recommend.  I love 100s of artists and can't think of one right now

OMG  I just watched the best movie.  My favorite genre - mystery, suspense, SCARY  It was very Alfred Hitchcock.  Titled - Apartment Zero.  A new release but watch it with a friend - not a Disney type movie
