OT!!! Dont read if you dont want to!! | Arthritis Information

Hey all,

My name is Tara, I have RA..I was diagnosed in 2002. I feel like crap most of the time and Im dealing with it. I've have been on all the rotten meds that most of you have been on--some have worked --some have not. I dont know if any of you remember me or not. But I've been around for a long time off and on. Do you want to know why I came here?? Maybe not, but Im going to tell you anyway. #1 My DR. referred me and #2 I was scared to death of what may come of my life!! I started reading posts before I actually joined and the things I read just gave me hope. So then I finally joined in 05. I remember being warmly welcomed by everyone here at that time. I felt like everyone understood what I was going through. I remember Roxy being so nice, kind and supportive to me. There were others but I dont remember their names.  I think she was a park ranger at the time if Im not mistaken. It seemed like back then everybody had all issues and would talk about them here and everyone was ok with it. I have found that RA or any chronic disease affects us in so many ways and what more could you as for from a group of people who know what you go through is support. It seems now if you post anything besides your aches and pains and the meds you are on people are being attacked!! That's not fair!!!  This  is supposed to be a support message board mainly about RA but about anything you want if you feel comfortable about posting it. Believe me someone here would have the answer. Im not taking up for Roxy in  any way she is a big girl and can handle her own. Im taking up for any one who feels like they want to post something off the subject and gets attacked. What about the new people who come here and read??? The last few vicious threads would run me off. This board needs a moderator. There are too many fights on here and it's not fair to the people who truly want and need good information and support.

Tara

Well said Tara and welcome back, Janie.  Hope things settle down and you stick around.

Hey Tara! Glad you're here Sweetie....and I'm glad you posted what you posted.

Please know that there is only a select few that are posting these mean things you are talking about and it is not the majority of us. Things will settle down soon and this place will return to the place you liked before. I hope you too will return and join in and become part of what really is a great group of people.

The good far out rank the bad here. It's just that right now; at the present time.....the bad is a little louder than the good. It won't always be that way. I promise.

Hope you're doing well.....and I really hope you'll give this place another chance.

Tara: Welcome back Tara. But I don't think we need a moderator. Maybe we
should all agree that anything that is not related to RA, should have an OT in
front of the title. That would steer people clear of the off topics. I also think
that the other RA quesions should be recognised. Yesterday, I noticed that
the thread that got all the hits was the Roxy thread.

Lorster--you're right we dont need a moderator. We are all adults here and should be able to conduct ourselves in that manner. Maybe we'll get lucky and the bad apples will go away.

Tara

Tara, I know how you feel, Sweetie.

We are all more than our RA, I hope. I know it feel like it overshadows everything else, but sometimes it's nice to talk about something  else in our lives with people who know what our lives are like. Did that make any sense?

Take care and be well

Hugs, Nini
