Baby arrived Safely! | Arthritis Information

Hi to you all

Just to let you know that after 9 months of hell with the RA untreated until just 3 months ago with PRED that my son arrived 2 days ago - BEAUTIFUL even if I say so myself - 8lb 12 and a half ounces! He took 3 hours of labour and 5 minutes of pushing and is perfect! I didn't take any pain relief at all but managed to have asthma attack mid flow meaning had to go on oxygen but no stitches and best of all no flare up during delivery which I was so much nervous about as so unknown what would happen.  I have increased my PRED to 10mg from 5mg at home just to be on the safe side as the following day when i woke up my neck and shoulders were stiff but could have been normal after the strain of pushing and not the RA but to play it safe i upped it mysel and will stay on this until i see the Rheumy in 4 weeks time.

I hope this will give other pregnant mums hope as i was a nervous wreck - though im sure i will get this flare up a few weeks after delivery that every other new mum has had - but i will keep in touch and let you know.

Im so happy !

CONGRATULATIONS!
