I was just sitting here posting about stress in our lives and was wondering where everyone's going for vacation or any type of trip this spring and summer.  Thought it would be interesting to hear about your plans for a trip.

We're leaving June 20th for Oregon and Washington by way of Utah and a small part of Idaho.  These are roads that we haven't traveled before and are looking forward to the unknown.  Hope to spend time in Oregon and Washington on the coast eating lots of seafood and investigatiing the tide pools.  We'll go inland to the Columbia River Gorge area and visit family, see new great nieces, visit some new wineries, and go to the farmer's markets.  If anyone out there has any suggestions for us, pass them on.  Always on the lookout for new adventures.

Lin, that sounds so fun. Gary and I traveled to Portland last summer for a
Crosby, Stills, Nash, young concert. Drove along the Columbia River and
then down the Washington Oregon Coast from Portland, clear north of
Seattle. Looked at the boats, was so much fun. anyway, we are headed to
NYC this Friday. Will drive to Spokane, fly to Phoenix, then on to NYC and
back on the 12th. Should be fun. Went there a year ago but only stayed 2
days which is just not enough. We are staying near Penn Station so will have
a great time for the week we are there. We have tickets for a Jon Stewart
show and the broadway play, Legally Blond. We are also going to see
Phantom of the Opera. I am excited as I love to visit the big city. Please
everyone, share your vacation plans. Hi,
I live in south eastern WA and we loved traveling along the gorge to the hood river area.  Stayed at a great B and B and took a train/dinner ride that took us through some of the most beautiful orchards and scenery. Have a great time!

OMG I love Jon Stewart!!  I also love NYC.  I hope you and Lin have great times on your vacations.

We are going ummm...nowhere lol.  Me being sick and in the hospital has eaten up lots of Danny's vacation days.  So we are just weekend camping with a long weekend Fri-Mon planned sometime this summer.  We are going to hit some new campsites that we have never been to tho so that will be an adventure in and of itself.

Here's a giggle for everyone.  One of the campsites we go to is called Bong Recreational Area.  I KID YOU NOT!!!  It is acutally named after Richard Bong who was in the Airforce.  The land that is the recreational area was once planned as an air force base.  Next time we go I will take a pic of the sign and post it lol.

Us in the N.C mts. always go to the beach for vacation. We are going to Charleston, S.C. in June for a week. It has so much history and beauty I think I could live there. It is my family's very favorite place to go and we have a great beach house to stay in for free!! (my husband's company owns it)lol. We love to tour the historic district, Civil War sites, and colonial homes; and the seafood is to die for. I told my husband that if I believed in reincarnation I would swear I was a very rich "southern belle" in a past life

Lori, sounds like a great trip.  NYC is my second favorite city.  So much to see and do.  Everywhere you turn is something stimulating and exciting.  Have a slice of pizza for me.

Liz, camping will be fun.  That's what we did a lot when John was growing up.  We spent several weekends a month and every long weekend camping.  Some of our best family memories are memories of camping in the hills of Virginia, Maryland, and West Virginia.

I love to camp too. The only thing I hate about it is there is no shower, lol.    Lin and Lori, you should look online at the new Charles Ravenel Bridge It is absolutely awesome! It took the place of the Cooper River Bridge , Thank God! Lin I'm sure you remember that one. It was sooo scary! The new bridge placed 6th in the top ten bridges in America... GenNothing big planned til September but I'd love to get away on a couple of long weekends through winter.  Do a bit of local sightseeing around the state.( Victoria, Australia).  In September we are going to Samoa for 10 days for our 25th anniversary.  South Pacific, sunshine and beaches.Oh Pammy, I envy you.  I had a friend years ago from Samoa and she was so nice and caring.  A really neat person.  She ended up going back to Samoa and we've lost contact.  Beaches and sunshine - the best for relaxation.

I can't wait.  I have to get through winter first but that will be my incentive.  16 weeks of crap weather coming up.  Not cold enough to say its a Canadian winter, but wet, very chilly and windy.  Sort of 4 months of November.  I will be SOOO ready for a holiday.

I have no plans, life is kinder that way! We have a shower when we camp!! OK so it is a shower in a bag with a tarp for makeshift privacy lol.  You fill the bag up and lay it in the sun to heat the water and viola!!  Shower!  Hang the thing from a tree and you are good to go!  It comes in handy when you have very dirty little ones.  Like my grandbaby last year lol.  It is also good for rinsing off and doing the dishes

We got the girls a 2 man tent this year so no kiddoes in our tent!!!  YAY!!!

Well we have eventually booked our holiday for August. Two weeks in Cornwall ( again) we were going to go to cancun or Florida but I am really not up to flying so Cornwall it is but Its the best place on this side of the Atlantic. We are booked into  HOTEL (WHERE THE FILM "THE WITCHES" with Angelica Huston was filmed and we have a family suite over looking the sea.So no cooking, cleaning, washing and ironing ( hubby is getting  good break). We have a jacuzzi and theres massages on offer so its going to be a total relax. I might even try some surfing
