Anyone else take a multi-vit a min?

I was told by one of my pass RD's to take extra calcium and a multi-vit a min to help with the effects of pred and the meds I was on at the time. I have been taking them, but sometimes I just stop taking them for months at a time because I do not want to swallow those ENORMOUS pills.

i used to take a multi but now i just take the ones i need. i take iron, vitamin B complex, slow release C , glucosamine and of course calcium.Vitamins worry me, I'm not gonna lie. When I look at a bottle, and it tells me that it's going to give me 300% of the DV I get nervous. Too much of something just can't be good. Maybe I sound crazy......don't get me wrong though, I'd love to take a vitamin that ensured that I got what I needed in a day. I just don't want to take something that gives me SO MUCH of it. Does that seem wrong?

No, I just do one multi vit-a-min and then a calcium supplement until I reach the 1500mg of calcium I am suppose to have each day.

I am not a big fan of veggies, or anything healthy for me, ya know how that pred works

So, you are not a nutty nut nut nut-cake, Katie

Multivitamins make me feel really sick so I just take the ones I need like Calcium and D for the Pred.

The only times I've ever taken a multi-vitamin were as a child and when I was intially treated for depression. The one I had as a kid were chewy and came in the shape of SuperTed or as little fruit flavoured balls. I didn't like them so my childminder used to hide them in yoghurts.

When I diagnosed with depression my psychiatrist put me on anti-depressants, a multi-vitamin and something called Supradyn. It was meant to help combat low energy and fatigue. For what I remember it helped with fatigue a bit but it was expensive, which is why I stopped taking it. I have thought about trying it again though to help with RA fatigue.

I take Centrum Silver in the chewable form.

They are  real easy to chew, no real aftertaste.

I tend to look askance at calcium supplements ..I drink milk, and eat cheese, and my bones  are exceptionally strong. I think I drink 4 glasses a day, 2%  cant stand skim, and eat at least an ounce of cheese. I also like spinach and sardines.(not together)

I do the Walgreens generic version of Centrum.  The whole family gets one daily and I tell ya...for us..they have worked well.  I stopped getting so sick after I started taking a multi vitamin so there has to be something to it.
