OT: Tomorrow is a big day | Arthritis Information

Well, my baby girl graduates from H.S.tomorrow, she is even in honors and will wear a gold cord. I haven't been able to figure out whether to cry or jump for joy. SHE on the other hand is so excited and absolutely overjoyed!

She is still busy with the project for graduation too, she has to remix the music for all the pictures of everyone graduating. I think they have 4 or 5 pics that each senior chose ranging from birth to now for the slide show/computer thing...whatever it is called.

I have ordered her ""our special three yellow roses""" ( a tradition for us, one yellow rose for her birthmother, one yellow rose for her, and one yellow rose for me, It is from the thankyou note I sent to her birthmom for allowing me to be a mother and the promise that I would do my best at being the person in my daughters life that for whatever reason she could not be.)My daughter even has the 3 roses  tattoed on her back ( not a choice I made that is for sure but that is what she wanted).

THis year I added a single red rose with a ribbon on it that will read "Grandfather"  in memory of my father who passed away 3 weeks before we received her. When he died we had a miniature red rose representing each grandchild layed on his chest but she hadn't come along yet, so this is the red rose for her. I am certain he has always looked down from the heavens to watch her and will be watching her when she graduates. I have strong faith in that. I sure wished he was here with us now though.

Anyway, she is the last of the grandkids form my side of the family to graduate.  She did it! It was a bit difficult at times but she has much to be proud of.

Congrats and best wishes to your daughter

She has plans to go on to college in January. I sure hope she does.

jode

Congratulations, Jode! To both you and your daughter.

That is quite an accomplishment, to graduate with honors, after overcoming ADD. Sounds like she had a great team on her side, including you!

I hope her plans for college work out. Especially these days, it is so important.

Big hugs and blessings to you both!

Nini

Congratulations Jode, I know how proud you must be! Thank God for good teachers. And I'm sure you had a big hand in it too

Oh, and of course, congrats to the graduate!

Hey Jode, my son was dx'ed with ADD too, I must have missed that, sorry. That's one of the reasons we enrolled him in a private school, smaller classes, tutors, and a learning center helped him so much. Not for everyone but worked well for us. We tried meds. but the side effects for him were terrible, Ritilan, I think it was. Thankfully he  outgrew or overcome the ADD and in college was all honors. We were just happy he wasn't ADHD lol. Kudo's to you all.... GenCongratulations Jode.Isnt it wonderful when kids have overcome ADD to be able to go on to graduate.ADD and ADHD are common here in the UK.I used to work with special needs kids and although frustrating it was very rewarding to see them go onto high school and leave for college. My son leaves school this summer too, he is in the throws of writing exams at the moment so the house is in a bit of a turmoil with the studying. My son was diagnosed dyslexic when he was 10 but he is doing really well now although he still battles with school work to some degree. Have fun at the graduation and the roses story is Lovely
