Baby may have craniosynostosis OT | Arthritis Information

Candice left for Denver tonight to take the baby to a specialist. Pediatrition
noted that the fontenells are closing in her head.   CT scan done today is
highly suspicious for this. What a drag for her and them. Her head has a
funny shape but I thought it was due to being underweight. More stress Oh man.  Our prayers are with you and your family.  Hugs to everyone and please keep us updated.  I'm so terribly sorry. sarah     I'm very sorry about this Lorster, hopefully this will only involve a small portion of the skull and can be corrected. This would explain your earlier concerns about the baby; eating and weight gain among other issues. I'll be praying and hoping for the very best outcome for all concerned......GenesisI am sorry to hear of this lorster. I wish the baby the best. Oh Lori, I am so sorry you guys are going through this. I had a good friend whose baby had that and she had a great outcome. Unfortuately due to many moves between us, we lost touch. I wish your family the best.Sorry about this for you and your family Lori.  Sincerely hope that everything will turn out OK.

Lori, I'm so sorry you and Candice are having to go through. Nothing touches my heart like a little one who is sick or in pain.

I honestly do not know what that problem is, but I'm going to look it up. Does it mean that the plates of baby's skull are growing together too fast?

God Bless this baby. And Mommy and Grammy and the entire family. But especially, may God hold this baby in "her" hand.

Prayers for you all, and gentle hugs.

Wow, Lori, that is a drag. This must be a very stressful time for your family. I know nothing about babies or craniosynostosis but I looked it up on Wikepedia and it said the odds are very in the babies favour that it will not be too serious. I hope that it all turns out for the best.  Thanks you guys. I knew something was up, deep down. One of the
symptoms of this is poor feedings and irritability amongst many other
problems. Weird thing is, there is a big convention regarding this condition
in Denver this weekend, that is why they got her in so soon. And Candices
mom lives in Cheyenne so that worked out so good.

Lorster- I am so sorry to hear about the baby, you are all in my thoughts

Lori - I just did a quick study of this condition, and hopefully this is what is it, and all will be well, especially as it looks like there is a very very small chance of any brain damage, just perhaps a smaller head?  I will pray this is true.

Our friends had their third baby seven months ago.  I was so sick with my disease I was in bed, but for some reason I just got up, got dressed, drove 45 miles up to the hospital and visited her within her first 24 hours - an angel.  I thought there was some unusual activity in the room by the nurses, but that was it.  She and Mom were discharged the next day with a normal delivery, no problems detected.

About 10 days later the baby started into a 3-month long series of severe seizures, which are now under control with medications.  If she is seizure-free for two years, the doctors say she will outgrow the condition and her recent EEGs show no damage.

Anyway, my point is, that her Mom is an RN and sensed something was wrong, but couldn't get her head around it, the RNs in the room sensed something, and you sensed something.  And I must of too to have for no good reason gotten up and held this sweet angel in her first 24 hours.  I was the only one outside the family to do this, and this couple have a huge amount of friends.  There is a bond, a force, something that connects us all.  You are in my prayers.  Cathy

Oh Lorster, my heart goes out to you and your family. I pray all goes well at the dr's visit.  Lorster, you have been under so much stress with this sweet little baby.
It is good to hear she will get the attention and care that she needs.
Please keep us informed. Our prayers are with you.

I don't know much about this condition.....but I will say a prayer for this sweet child and her parents. Thankfully the doctors have detected the problem and they will soon be able to help her.

Please let us know how she's doing.

Oh noo!!!

*big hugs* I will keep the baby in my prayers. It is SO hard to have an infant who's not always well. (my son has really bad allergies....took them a year to get to it, and quit saying he constantly had RSV and Roto-virus.... Stupid Drs.)

*hugs*

Lorster,

I will be thinking of all of you and sending prayers and good thoughts, too. Please let us know as soon as you can.

Love and hugs

Lori, at least there may be definite answers to why the baby wasn't thriving.  I hope that it's a mild form and all goes well.  It doesn't sound as if she's had seizures or an brain activity related to this.  This is a good sign.  Take care and I'll be thinking about all of you.  She has a good grandma and grandpa.  Lindy
