OH DEAR!! I must admit it has never hurt me like that.

I thought the automatic injectables would hurt less. Enbrel has one of those too.  They really hurt.
I had to switch back to the regular shots. I have more control with those. Less pain.
Joonie you are so funny!

Good Find Joonie. That's a good clip for anyone that's getting ready to start them.

Keep in mind that they don't all hurt and everyones different though. To be honest; sometimes it hurt worse than other times. We never could put our finger on exactly what we were doing different though. The few minutes of pain from them though were worth the relief they brought.

Thanks Joonie. I'll have to show that to Mr. Lovie. He'll get a kick out of that!

Katie?! Did you notice dude was shooting up Humira for his Chrons, because he joined a study trial for to test it?

joonie39236.6191666667The trick is to ice the spot for two minutes BEFORE injecting. That's what I do, and I hardly feel a thing. No, the real trick is... to have a numb belly from c-section from about 32 months ago  My right side is more numb than my left. I do not feel the burn until it goes pass the numb area. Once it does that I can feel the burn moving up and spreading out up towards my ribs and my side. Great video.  Scares the crap out of me.

For me the burn does not scare me, it is the NEEDLE!!!!!

Just the thought of some shiney, forgien object peircing my skin, is enough to make me feel a little flush and nervous. I do not even have my ears pierced. I use to from when my mommy got them pierced when I was a baby. I will not wearing earings because it reminds me of a NEEDLE!

I have only ever taken the injection and have switched to pens for this weeks injection.are the pens worse??????????????

When I was on Humira it was the burn, not the injection that hurt.  It would almost take my breath away.  Sometimes just grit my teeth and watch the tears go down my face until the burn stopped.

But it really helped me a lot, until, like everything else I became allergic.  The 5 minute burn was, worth the 10 days of relief I got.

Lisa...I don't know if the pens are better or worse than the syringes.  I can tell you that I think it goes faster with the pen.  It was suggested to ice your injection spot for 2 minutes then inject.

I am like crispy.  It isn't the quick inject needle that bothers me...it is the burn that bothers me.  The needle is like either a 22 or 23 gauge needle.  Very very tiny.  23 gauges are used on babies.

Could not STAND the pens. Had to go back to the syringes. I still have two pens left and will have the use them at some point before they expire.

If you have needle phobia though the pens might be for you because you can't see the needle.I scared my hubby one morning doing my shot, I forgot to warn him and I let out a rather nasty word very loudly and he thought I had fallen or something!  Now, we have a rule, I always give the heads up before injecting myself! I agree, the needle is no biggie at all, its the solution that feels like battery acid! LOL Michele.  I always have to give a heads up when I inject either mtx or humira.  My husband hates needles and turns white at the sight of me injecting.  Especially my mtx since I do it in the muscle and the needle is long.  It's a real small guagee.  But long.  One day I had given him the heads up and he must have forgotten and turned around to say something to me just as I was plunging that long needle into my thigh.  I thought he was going to pass out lol.  OK..it's not funny...but it is.  The needle is going in me!!!  Why is he passing out!!!  LOL!!  I have had to have grab my skin before for me to give myself a humira injection.  He got up from that all woozy and you don't even see the needle.  He said it was the clicking sound when you push the button and that needle is released.  Sheeeesh.  Diabetes runs in his family.  Can you imagine if he had to do insulin??
