Good Morning Everyone! I have a quick question and knew where I could get an answer
Michele
Michele,
I have similar issues. My new plan is to lay out predisone, by the bedside. I seem to have no problem taking my daily dosage anywhere from 4 a.m. on. If I wait until morning-I hurt all day until late afternoon and have a difficult time getting to sleep before midnight. It just seem to be working for me. My stomach has not show any side effect from this schedule. Did your doctor okay the 1mg at night? I was informed on this site and then by doctor that below 10mg all should be taken in the a.m. Something about the adrenal gland needing to work with no predisone in the system. But heck, I have not much of a clue--just impressed with any one below 9mg-where I am today. Should be going to 8 1/2,but have a family emergency which requires a nine hour drive. I know I will be a mess tomarrow,so will wait two extra days before decreasing.
Good Luck and a painfree week to your husband

HiMargaret,
That web site was so helpful. Thank you for sending me there.

Thanks folks. I am going to print out the page on the almighty Prednisone for hubby to read. Thanks for the responses!

I sometimes have the same problem on weekends - seem to be a little stiffer, etc., and also attributed it to sleeping in and taking my medication later. I often wake earlier, so I get up, take my prednisone with half a banana and a small glass of milk, and go back to bed. It seems to work for me.Re: taking Prednisone later on weekends.
I noticed that too. If I take my dose at 6am or so, I feel OK but if I sleep in, the pain and stiffness are much more pronounced.
BTW, I have also noticed increased stiffness in the sacral area. Not pain like with a disc problem, just stiffness and some unsteadiness in the morning.
Anyone else experienced this?
