I received a list in the mail of physicians that are willing to use recommended treatment modalities in treating RA.

Let me know what  major city you are in and I can give you a name. t is not extensive...but it might be helpful.

Hey Gena!

I didn't understand this post...duh!  Are you saying you have a list of AP docs?  Can you PM me any in So Cal?

I need to find a local one while I'm here.

Pip

I have a really good rd.  She got an award on her research on fibro.  She says she does AP but not with severe RA.

I have PRA and was originally diagnosed as 'early onset severe'.  I think I mentioned I had to use a wheelchair 4 months afer diagnosis.  AP worked wonders on me.  Another friend, also PRA, was told by her rheumy, that she saves the AP for later when nothing else will work.  This is what I tried to tell Zekeman - they always tell you it works for whatever you are not.

The part that bothers me is you have to jump thru hoops to get it - these doc's don't advertise that they do AP and trying to get that info out of the barracuda's manning the phones is near impossible.  So, you go to the office, waste hours filling out forms, and then get discouraged from the med of your choice.

My AP rheumy is in LA but if I can find an AP GP in the same area then I'm covered in both states.  Does that make sense?  If I read Gena's post right she has a list.  That could save me months of 'interviewing' docs on this end of the world.

Pip: I thought you see Dr F while in So Cal!? Am I missing something?

JUST CURIOUS, ANY IN MPLS,MINNESOTA?

KEL

Karin!

I do - but the last time I saw him I hemmed and hawed about the IV's and kind of got ignored.  And you also told me that he's not into it - but on the RB a sclero patient said he did prescribe IV's - so I'm seeing Dr. L on the 19th (?) and I'm going to come right out and say I want IV's and see what happens.

And I think it's best to have a GP AP doc and a rheumy AP doc just like traditional medicine.  I'd rather have a GP that know's what I'm doing without having to jump thru hoops yet again.  And we don't have doc's out here yet.  What if the baby gets sick?  My hubby is looking into one of the advanced protocols for his diabetes so an AP GP would at least know where to send him for lab tests etc.  Does that make sense?

Any local suggestions?

Pip

Oh my, I don't know why I gave you the impression he isn't into IVs! I'm sorry! I'm on them now! I think he did say something to the effect of them being inconvenient for ME a while back. Why not see John's AP GP in Malibu? Shoot me an e-mail. ~Karin

I will - my goal today was to find out when school ended!  LOL

Also - got a good pediatrician?

Pip

Oh, I have an awesome one. But I think she is too far for you!
