Is it a huge deal if I missed my Prednisone dose this morning? I always take it first thing....I have no clue how I forgot. Will it matter if I take it at 5:30pm instead??  I of course threw out my papers that I got orignally that tell you "IF YOU MISS A DOSE......"

Thanks for your help.

I've only been on Pred. one other time for a respitory infection and the idiot Dr had me on a higher dose for 5 days and didn't wean me off at all! Oh goodness, that was not a good deal!

Yeah, the 1mg a month sounds about right. I hope you do not flare while you tapper and that you do not get stuck at a certain dosage.

Good Luck!

I take mine when I remember it. I never take it at certain time. Usually between 11pm-4am when I take my pred.

Maybe me not taking it at a certain time is what is helping me to taper off without a flare? Or it could just be it is not working like I said.

Oh and I have forgetten to take my Humira 2 days in a row now, maybe tonight I will remember to get hubby to give me my Humira shot. I have been busy playing video games again. Need something to "spicy" up my life

If it is a high dose, it might keep you up at night and cause sweating/urination.  I have only been on Pred for 6 months and my Rheumy actually has me SKIP days when I'm off work.  I wasn't sure how I felt about that, but it seems to be working.  I never was on a very high dose though.  I would not recommend skipping a dose if you have been on it for years or you are on a high dose.  (skipping a dose on purpose).  I would check with my dr. for a plan for next time (if there is a next time

Also...anytme you have a question about a med you can always call the
pharmacist...i've had to do that before to find out about an OTC med and a
prescribed med. luckily i have a great pharmacist who i trust knows what
he's talking about!
Good luck

Oh yeah- Phats, I'm on 10mg...I was on 5mg for 2 months, next week is my 1 month mark on 10mg. So not a huge dose I don't think.
