YAY!!!  I had a great appointment!!!  I am off the pred as of Friday!!!!  I am also off the lyrica!!!  I am increasing my mtx dose to .8ml to make up for not having the pred.  He gave me a new med called Provigil for the fatigue.  It is used for people with narcolepsy.  So hopefully that will help with my fatigue.  I don't take a full dose of it, just half a dose once a day.  We will see what happens.  I am not released yet for knee replacement.  He wants to see how I do without the pred and lyrica first.  I can live with that and he really is right on this one.

Danielle's bloodwork came back ok.  No virus and of course as most jra kids she is sero negative.  He feels her appt in Sept is too far out and she is on a cancellation list to get in earlier than that.  We will discuss then what to do with her meds wise.  He wants to see how she does on the pred and celebrex.  He also says he does not want her on pred long term AT ALL.  Gotta love this guy.

Everything worked out well today.  Now just the wait and see game for both me and Danielle.

Great news,Gramma.

Hope that it won't take too long for you to be ready for the Knee replacement.

Keep us posted on the Provigil.  Have heard about the treatment but have not known anyone on it.  Sure hope it helps.  Hope they can get Danielle in a little earlier as well

Sounds like a great dr.!  Good news all round.  Congrats! Good to hear things are working out Gramma. I hope your new meds do the trick for the fatigue and I'm glad to hear Danielle will be seen sooner. I envy you going off the prednisone. Linda

Thank you everyone.  It has been a struggle since the middle of October to get to where I am now.  I am thankful and grateful for the support I have gotten from everyone here in that time.

Lin and Binge...thanks for the heads up on the provigil.  If I get nauseous from it you can best believe I will be on the phone for something for that.  Whenever I was pregnant I had all day and night sickness and I no longer do nausea very well lol.

Oh Lin you aren't kidding too bad we ar enot closer.  I think I dread what my husband has to go thru more than what I have to go thru.  It's so hard on them.

This is wonderful news. Hope it won't be long before you're doing the happy dance! It sounds like you have found a very good doctor who listens to you. I believe getting off Prednisone is alway a very good thing. I'm happy your appointment went so well.
