LEVAQUIN | Arthritis Information

If anyone is prescribed the antibiotic, Levaquin, please check it out before taking any.  If you google "levaquin side effects" you will get more than enough information to help you decide if you actually want to take it.  Levaquin has been described as the drug from hell, and I agree with that.  It is one of the drugs that has been approved for anthrax but is being used for many other things including lyme disease and some forms of arthritis as well as more commonplace things. I had it prescribed for an ear infection and took only two doses.  That was 3 days ago and I am still having stomach cramps, no appetite and when I do eat something I get diahrea (sp?). My joints ache, even joints that are not affected by my arthritis are inflamed and painful.  No one can tell me how much longer the effects will last.  Some studies show that over 70% of patients have serious side effects and some of them end up with permanent damage.  I wish I had read more than just the literature that comes from the pharmacy.

Sorry to hear that you had such a hard time taking Levaquin. For me it was a lifesaver as I had walking pneumonia and bronchitis twice within a month and had to go on two cycles of it. Fortunately, I did not have any problems taking it. Hope you will be feeling better soon.
