OT, Brain and Heart/Lung machine! | Arthritis Information

Hi all, I've been having some very strange experiences lately and told my RA doc, he gave me an article out of Yahoo about people who have had heart operations (I had one in Dec) and have been hooked up to the 'heart-lung" machine.  WELLLL, it turns out it can affect your brain!! Make you forgetful, etc. And some of this stuff I've been doing like forgetting to put on the brake on my golf cart (it rolled backwards down a hill), running through stop signs, and I keep losing things 'my wedding ring, my glasses, my purse at Albertsons, etc. All brain fade related. So, I guess I'll stop blaming the prednisone. OH, down to 5 mgs, RAHHHH!, Sarah Lynda

Lynda, I also had heart surgery couple yrs ago and had the heart-lung change over but no one ever told me about possible side effects. Do you still have the link on Yahoo? I'd like to look at it too...I've been worried thinking I may have early symptoms of dementia or Alzeimer's because I've become so forgetful. Names especially are never on the tip of my tounge (even of family) like they should be.

Thanks for any info you have
