As i read over the topics and their contents over the last few weeks it just amazes me how childish some people have become on this board. This past week has really been an eye opener to me. Someone who has known me since I was a little baby was brutally murdered in her home by a 16yr old and a 17yr old this past week. They broke into her home and she must have woken up and surprised them. They beat her with a hammer and stabbed her several times and left her for dead, she managed to get to the phone and call 911 to let dispatch know what was happening, even though she knew she was dying, and as she did this these boys came back in the room took the phone away from her and slit her throat. This is a woman that we should all try and lead a life like her. She had four sons all good sons, good fathers, good men, and good husbands. She had wonderful grandchildren who were raised like their fathers to be good people and to help those who are less fortunate. This woman dedicated her life to helping others, she always made everyone she met feel special. She was the first one there to pitch in when someone needed help, she would go to New York for months at a time and work in the soup kitchens because she knew they needed help, she paid a woman's property taxes so she wouldn't lose her house and she never expected the woman to pay her back. This woman did not deserve to die this way but it happened and we celebrated her life this week and it was amazing to see how many peoples lives she touched. Visitation was one day at the funeral home, it was at least a half hour wait to get into the funeral home and to her casket to pay respects and people stayed and waited even though temps were near 90,for she was such a wonderful and outstanding woman. I know I will never forget her and I will never forget my times with her and her family. My heart goes out to the family and for the city for we lost a loving & caring soul. Now doesn't this make all the arguing and the fighting we been having silly and stupid, I think so. meme
It is beyond understanding how anyone, but especially someone with such a good, kind heart, could be taken from this life in such a horrid, brutal manner.
I will keep you and her family in my prayers.
May God hold her gently in the palm of His hand.

Reading your letter I felt so many emotions: anger at the kind of people who can commit such a crime; frustration that we can't seem to prevent these crimes from happening; sadness that such a beautiful human being was taken from this earth.
Yes, when there is a loss like this it puts everything into perspective. I'm so sorry for the loss of your friend, and the loss of the kind of person that this world needs more of.
