I have felt great for the past year on Remicade, after stopping arava when my liver enzymes went too high. (Arava also caused hair loss.) Now, suddenly, my hands are swollen and painful and the pain is back in my neck. I am terrified of Arava because my enzymes are still borderline even without it. My RD told me I may build antibodies to remicade without it but I said I would take my chances for now. That was 3 months ago, and my symptoms started over the past 2 weeks. I am afraid to make an appt. without some hope that there is an alternative to Arava or methotrexate to aid the remicade. My GI told me to avoid these and hopefully there will be new drugs available when the remicade alone stops working. I looked up orencia but mtx is used with it. There must be someone out there who can't tolerate arava and mtx. I would like to know what they are doing or any information that might help me. you might talk about adding plaquenil or sulfasalazineWhat about Imuran?
