OT-PCP visit and other stuff | Arthritis Information

YAY!!!!  I am a big girl once again!!!!!  I drove today BY MYSELF WITHOUT DANNY for the first time since before Christmas 2006!!!!!!!  Ok so it was only 5 minutes down the street to the doc office but I did it alone!!!  I had no problems and it felt just fantastic!!  I drove the truck!!! YAY!!!!!

So I had a great visit with my PCP.  His P.A. is so sweet and we have actually become friends.  She gave me a big hug when she saw me and said I looked great!!  She also noticed that I did not have Danny with me!!  I had to change my asthma meds since my advair went to a co-pay monthly.  I have to use 2 different inhalers now and it is actually cheaper for me to do that lol.  Stupid insurance.  My doc explained it as advair is a convience since the 2 meds I need are in one inhaler and that is why it prolly went to .  He gave me a month free of each of one of maintenance inhalers, a month free of my rescue inhaler, and an arthritis friendly inhaler for one of my maintenance inhalers.  He said that one I would have problems using.  But there is another one by a different company that works with the med I am on and has been cited for ease of use from the Arthritis Foundation.  The other one has been rated very poorly by the AF.  So that is a relief.  I am weaning off the morphine!!!!!  I now drop to 15mg for a month and then I can stop.  He said you can stop it at 15mg but 30 is way too much to stop at.  YAY!!!!!  I have percs for bad weather days.  All I really need is 2 of those a day when the weather is bad.  He also gagve me something for when my leg spasms when I inject my mtx.  He said that it is common that happens with long term IM injections.  I have a huge bruise on my leg from my last shot because my muscle decided to spasm pretty badly.  I am going to call my rheumy to see if I can switch to sub q injections.

So all in all it was a good visit!!!  YAY!!!  After months and months of yuk there is finally light at the end of the tunnel!

Great news!!!  I am so happy to hear you are doing so well and will actually be getting off your pain meds, wonderful!  I'd do the happy dance if I didn't think I'd break a hip or something!

GREAT NEWS GRAMMA!! I am so happy for you! Good, good news... Hi Liz, sounds like your going in the right direction.  I'm so happy that you're feeling better and driving - whoppee.  Last week I drove for the first time in months and I felt so free.  I took an extra pain pill, put on my knee brace, hopped in the truck and took off.  Only drove a couple of miles to the little mall but I was out by myself.  I understand about the loss of freedom and it really angers me but not much we can do but get better.  Lindy

Great news Liz!  You go girl!

Fantastic!
