Well, I went to see my rheumatologist yesterday. She did a physical exam of
my joints and said...you have RA. Not the news anyone wants to hear, but at
least she didn't look at me like I was crazy. And it is nice to know that I am
not crazy--I was starting to think that I might be just that!

I had a lot of blood drawn for more tests and I am going to get a bone scan
on Thursday. I am also taking Arthrotec until my next visit. Thanks to all of
you for the information you've given me while I was in limbo land!

Natty - I know its not nice to hear you have RA but at least now you know what it is  treatment can begin and hopefully give you some relief. Let me know how you go on the Arthrotec. I was the first med that I was on and it helped for a while but as it is only an anti-inflamatory it didnt do anything to stop the progression of the RA.Maybe your doc will prescribe something more after your bloods and scan have been done.

No you definetly arent crazy

Take care

Yes, My doctor indicated that the arthrotec was going to be used only until
my next vist after she has seen the bone scan and blood work. Thanks for
the support!its a weird feeling when you finally get a diagnosis . i suffered in extreme pain for years ,and with it depression etc . so it was a huge relief when i finally got diagnosed with psoriatic arthritis . i felt relief but scared at the same time .

Glad your doctor was able to quickly recognize the problem and you won't have to dance around a dx for a long time. Your RD sounds like my first RD. She didn't waist anytime and I honestly believe it's gone a long way toward making a bad situation better. Early treatment does make a huge difference. I've living proof of that.

Hope we'll see more of you now that's it's offical.

Take Care.

Natty, I know that feeling very well.  People start looking at you like you're crazy before diagnosis.  I had so much "It's all in your head" from doctors, I feel like writing them all a poison pen letter stating that as doctors they make pretty good car wash guys.

I am glad that you finally got a diagnosis.  It's weird feeling isn't it.  Don't know whether to be happy they found what is really going on or sad because it is ra.  It sounds like you have a good rheumy and is pro-active with testing and getting you on a treatment plan.

Glad to see you survived our nasty weather last week!!!

no one likes getting a diagnosis but at least now you can begin to build a plan on how to deal with it.  The known is much easier to deal with than the unknown

I agree, it's never what you want to hear.  On a positive note, a dx is a good thing...at least now you have a place to start.  I hope they are able to get it under control for you quickly.  Keep us posted on how your doing and if there is anything we can do to help....we're just a click of the mouse away.

Peace & Love...Neasy

I am glad I finally got diagnosed~ I have had symptoms since the fall of
2004! Thanks for all of your kind words!

Hi, mine took 5 years, but the problem was ME!, I wouldn't believe I had RA. Dn't know what I was thinking. Began treatment and progressed through several meds. Did fine on MTX until last Dec. and my heart operation,(nothing to do with RA, I was told) now I'm taking the following mixture. I hope to reduce the amounts of all these drugs in the months ahead.

I know that sinking feeling when you find out it is 'true', you do have a life time disease....It isn't a good feeling, but now you can get serious about dealing with it. Me
