MTX w/o RA | Arthritis Information

So, if I just had a third (well technically a fourth because the first one said I was crazy and making up all my symptoms for narcotics), and this rheumatologist says I have undifferentiated mixed connective tissue disease with a push towards lupus, but definitely dont have RA, scleroderma or polymysitis (which my present rheumy says I do have), is MTX a treatment for lupus?  If its just a treatment for RA and I supposedly dont have RA now after a second opinion, should I be taking MTX?  This is getting too wierd.

MTX is used to treat lupus as well as the UMCTD

Thanks buckeye - I just went through quite a number of sites on lupus, and not one mentioned MTX as a treatment.  That's why I was going what ????  And I pulled an RA factor of 150, I guess that doesn't mean you have RA.  I will never understand this whole thing.
