Hi Isabel,

My name is Gina. I to have had RA ever since I can remember. I have been lucky I'm just now starting to have joints replaced. I need both of my wrist replaced. I'm going to do one at a time. My mom said it is going to be worse then i think. She is going to come and stay with me. I have a very busy 12 year old. I would be happy to chat with you any time. It is hard my friends all sympathize with my RA. But, i know they really do not understand how tired or how much it hurts or how even though it hurts you still move on. We talk about child birth and they all say how much it hurt. I tell them on my pain scale it is a 5.(1 to 10) So, Any time email me or post a reply. Nice to meet you. Hope you have a great evening. Gina

I'm glad your on the sight. I found it a great help. I was diagnosed with RA at the age of 15 but I probably had been walking around with RA alot longer. I am now 43 and things have changed alot since I was 15, the best thing I took then was asprin now there is Enbril and Methotrexate and much more to help us live a better life.

I curious to know how your symptoms were when you were 7. To better understand if I did have JRA and if my daughter may have it. She has morning stiffness in her feet and often her glands are swollen. One time when she had the flu her joints in her hands knees feet etc were so inflamed she couldn't even brush her teeth. How ever she mostly seems fine now ecept for the morning stiffs and swollen glands now and then.

All my best to you and please if you can tell me how it was for you at 7.

Hi Isabel!

I don't have JRA - just adult RA but I want to welcome you to the site!  I have found this site to be very helpful to me  - it's so nice to talk with others who know how it feels!

Blessings,

Marcy

Hi Isabel,

I was diagnosed with JRA at 21 they said i had had it since i was about 16, so it had taken its toll i'm blessed to have had no joints replaced as of yet i'm now 41, although i do have a knee replacement not related to my ra work injury... you name it i have tryed it and i'm about to start on Enebrel still on Prednisone, after twenty years that i hate also take imuran, fosamax now for oa i think the prednisone caused that... the best advice is get a good RA doc and ask lots of questions do research and have lots of friends to talk to who know what you are going through.

Blessings and welcome

Skyla
