lm,

I'm kinda going thru the same problem. Altho the enbrel was working pretty well the Doctors thought that maybe i would have even better response with humira so i switched 3 weeks ago. Gosh, i forgot about how fatigued i used to be before enbrel, i remember now. I had forgotten what pain i used to get just to bump a joint, i remember now. I forgot how it felt like a million tiny, tiny pirhanna with sharp teeth were eating at my joints, i remember now. I don't know how long humira takes to be effective after the switch from enbrel. I expect to ask the Doctor this coming week. I know that all biologics have about the same success rate, about 50%. Fortunately, i have a nice stash of prednisone and the Doctor allows me to regulate my prednisone intake. Lucky me i guess. I feel your pain.

Well, ya gotta give it time to work. I know it is known as a "big gun" drug, but that does not mean it is SUPER fast

Yeah, it took Humira a while before I stopped having swelling non-stop. I mean it did help me with my stiffness, and energized me within my 2nd shot, but after 3 months of being on every other week, I had to be put on it every week. Since then when I am on it and it is kicked it, I do not have that much swelling, but I still have pain from joint damage and I tend to have weather flares. And then some weeks, Humira does not seem like it is working as good, like this week. My back/neck/shoulders hurts again, I am swelling in my elbows they will not extend much more than a 90 degree angle, and my ankles and feet are killing me to just be on them to walk thur wal-mart for groceries. And everyone knows... when I am rushing ya up to get out of wal-mart I am not doing well.

Plus, I have been having much more burning in my shoulder blades as of lately. It burns now no matter what I do with my arms, unless I lay down and not move at all.

hi, I know you hate to increase the prednisone, but maybe you need to? I just did. I was doing okay on 2mgs, then yesterday (out of the blue), my hands were stiff, swollen and wouldn't work real well), so I increased from 2 to 3-1/2mgs (my doc said it was okay to go up and down as needed). I felt better instantly! So there we are. the love hate situation. I'll keep trying this week to go back to 2.Lynda
