I have been on Enbrel for 4 weeks and it is helping with pain.  However, my arms have started to go numb and tingley to the point that sleep is very hard.  Has anyone had this problem with Enbrel?  Thanks for the feedback.

Marla--

I think you should get a hold of your Rheumy and let him know what you're experiencing--he might want you to discontinue the Enbrel.

Personally, I've been on Enbrel since last September and I haven't noticed any numbness.  The first few times I did my injection though, I did notice being light-headed afterwards.  I don't have that feeling anymore though.

Best of luck to you--

Marla:

I am a Veteran when it comes to Enbrel. I have severe RA and I have been using Enbrel with Arava and Mobic for the last 9 years.  Personally, I have never expereinced any numb tingly effects in my arms associated with the use of Enbrel.  Possibly you may want to follow up with your physician with your concerns, there maybe an underlying condition. The only side effect I have ever experienced, is occasional itching at the injection site, which is tolerable and normal.  I use 25mg x 2 a week.  I do not use the one week injection as it is my understanding, it is more painful.  Enbrel has changed my life and my outlook on my disease.  Good luck to you.

I have been having numbness and tingling in my hands and feet. I also have
weakness in my arms and legs, dizziness and changes in my vision. I read
that these side effects can come from Enbrel. My dr took me off Enbrel in
April. The numbness is better and the weakness is too. But I am exhausted
most of the time. Has this happened to anyone else? Did you get better?Mary Beth--

I'm sure you know that RA often causes fatigue.  Maybe that's what's causing your exhaustion?

dordale Marla ... I was just wondering what your doc had to say about the numbness... I've experienced it as well (after 2 years on Enbrel) and the doc says it's "probably" not related but I'm having my doubts......I also had dizziness and my Dr. said it had nothing to do with t6eh enbrel.  So I skipped my shot for a few weeks and the dizziness went away.  When I started the shots back up the dizziness had gone away.I just took my first injectin of enbrel this week.  However, I was experiencing tingling in my right arm before I went on it.  I think it is coming from the pain in my neck on that side.  I know enbrel had nothing to do with the tingling.  Maybe MTX??????Aleva.... I havd pain and tingling in my hands and legs and feet from Peripheral neuropathy caused by RA... I also experience stabbing pains and shooting pains at times.......

I hope yours is just from inflammation.
