I cannot open anything with a top: coke bottle, jar of peanut butter, bottle of water, you get the idea.

My MIL brought me home, from when she worked at the hospital, a bottle opener. It weird looking, and on a keychain. I can open coke bottles & water bottles with it on my good days, but other days when my hands are giving trouble I cannot.

How do you open a jar of peanut butter, or a jar of anything?

There are these things that open jars that are really helpfull...they have a rubber type material that you put around the lid..Ive found them to be really helpful but i just cant remember what they are called right now

You mean the rubber gripper? The thing that looks like a mini placemat?

If so, I have one of those and my wrist will not do the turn motion.

I forgot to mention that in my right wrist, I have VERY limited ROM from a fracture in my wrist not healing properly.

no, its called a grip wrench

Nope, cannot do that either, because you have to squeeze it right? Well, I have no strength in my hands for squeezing.

I just want to find a way to open jars and things so I can try to cook dinner on my good days and not have to depend on hubby to cook dinner. I feel bad that he comes home from work and then cooks dinner. I mean I gotta earn my keep around here

joonie, you poor thing, I'm sorry you can't cook like you want, but there is a thingy I've seen on TV that is electric and all you do is put the jar in and mash a button and it opens it! Voila' you don't have to turn with your hands. Anybody know the name? I forgot, maybe Jar Jenie

Sorry, in a weird mood. Might be from lack of sleep.

Might ask for one of those for christmas.

Oh oh oh....!!!!  I know it should be called "Opensaysme!"Joonie, have you tried one of those electric jar openers? I think you can get
them at target. Someone earlier had posted on them and said they are really
nice. Check them out. OOPs sorry genesis, should have read your post.
