Watch the sodium! | Arthritis Information

When I eat salty foods, and talk about EVERYTHING has sodium in it!, I have more swelling. I take a diuretic (20mgs of lasix), but I don't want to continue. Sodium is in cottage cheese, big time, prepared cereal is loaded, and so many prepared foods, (tuna!, of course), canned veggies! It is everywhere and very bad for joints to swell from that...too!. Fried chicken at Albertsons, almost all prepared foods! Canned soups are out for me!

Please everyone: Read the sodium content in foods (tomato catsup), ...everything? Wikipedia has a great list of the sodium in fooods. Lynda

I'm a frickin saltaholic! I'm not kidding. At times I feel like i could eat salt straight from the shaker!

If I could just stop adding extra to just about everything I'd be doing a lot to help myself.

hi, I know what yu mean, I love pizza, salami, all that salty/fatty stuff. It takes doing it a little at a time....but helps with water retention, etc. (I had to work on less salt because of my heart problem)me

Salt is my favorite, right behind sugar

Salt is evil! I never really overcooked w/ it or used too much on dinners and stuff. But,... Beef Jerky is best good friend and we had to break up. Stuffed olives and pickles, pate, brie, etc. etc. etc. It's hard to even talk about it now.
