remicade question... | Arthritis Information

Everything I've read about remicade says it works better in conjunction with mtx. My rd's taken me off mtx and I'm on arava instead. I'm wondering if the remicade isn't as effective? I hate to think I'm putting this stuff into my body and have it not be as effective. I forgot to ask my rd at my last appointment. I believe he would have told me otherwise, but just wondering if anyone has heard differently.

I was on arava  and remicade.  The arava provides the same function as mtx, which I'm told keeps you from making antibodies to the remicade. I was taken off arava a year ago because of raised liver enzymes.  I was doing great on just remicade until this month.
