Hypnotherapy? | Arthritis Information

I was wondering whether anyone had tried this for their arthritis?

I started thinking along the lines that your immune system attacks your joints because something has gone wrong with what it perceives to be the enemy. Now, your brain is in charge of everything in your body...so maybe you could sbconsciously tell your white cells to stop attacking you?

Please do corect me if Ive mentioned any incorrect biology here!

Anyhow I was wondering what peole thought about this, or does anyone have any experience with it at all?
i'm doiubting that it works for every long... i've done some intense therapy with a dr in mediation (i know it's not exactly the same...) but i've only found it helpful when the mediation was actually being preformed... afterwards i would go beck to hurting

Hi,

I did try the hypnotherapy for 6 months.  It didn't help me.  Maybe it was the guidance of the therapist.  I wouldn't mind trying it again with another therapist.  I do believe a lot of things can be managed through mind control, our thoughts.  Even though I am not doing the hypnotherapy, I still try to keep my thoughts positive.  Very difficult when in chronic pain but I try and it takes practice.
i hope it works for you.
take care.

I guess there's really a psychological effect in a way when you think the positive way. Like everytime my mom is being attacked by this chronic back pains, my first aid to at least lessen the pain is to massage her back and tell her repeatedly to think that the pain is only in her mind and there's no pain at all. And just after minutes of massaging, the pain would lessen till my mom feel relaxed. I don't know if someone has experienced this. But believed me, it really works!
