Mom’s knee replacement, nephew’s cancer | Arthritis Information

Mom's knee replacement surgery went well she has only had a few problems. Hemoglobin was low: she was given 2 units of blood, Potassium levels high: they have meds for that, she passes out easily: meds and rest work for that. she is in an immense amount of pain: again meds for that, does her exercises without griping: for now. SHe has a voiding problem: they are working with that. I am exhausted: left hospital early tonight will be there by 7 sharp in the A/M.

The orthopedic surgeon is pleased with her surgery  and the problems can all be attended to, there are nurses and Dr.'s in her room on a constant basis...excellant room, excellant staff,  and excellant healthcare.

Called and told my brother and his son just got out of the hospital today after another round with the chemo for his lymphoma. He now has to take insulin due to all the pred and his white blood count is low so he will go to the Dr. tomorrow  and have his meds for that...we remind ourselves that the alternative is death.

My brother is holding up pretty good, but again, I am totalled, and he is brave for his son. Prayers would be nice and I know those of you who pray will send them for my mom and nephew.

Over and out! ( grin) ((this all  really sucks!.....BIG TIME!))

I asked one of the nurses today where their  psych ward was cause I felt like I needed some Haldol cause I really am wanting to let go and have a nervous breakdown....she said she is not saying cause I have to wait cause  she gets to have her nervous breakdown first and I will just have to wait in line for mine, I told "well hurry up then". And she said she has to wait till she is off work, I told her that she is no help! lol

Humor is sometimes the best medicine so they say.

So Sorry Jode!! I will certainly be glad to pray for you all. I hope everyone can settle down and get well now that treatments have been given. I agree with the nurse,You just don't have the time to have a nervous breakdown right now. Maybe you can fit one into your schedule in a couple of weeks
