I went to the dentist yesterday and my sjorgrens is wreaking havoc on my mouth. He has me on theraputic flouride and a special mouth rinse. 6 months ago I was fine.

My computer crashed and burned. its dead as a doornail. I've lost all my grad school writing, all my photos from the last 5 years, Marks tutoring evals for all his students. all his past tests and exams for his high school kids, all of my brother in laws preliminary info for his business and his ssdi letters.

I'm hoping someone can recover the hard drive.

arrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrggggggggggh

what on gods green earth can happen next?

Sorry to hear about all the trouble.

I haven't been diagnosed with Sjorgrens but have had trouble with my mouth and eyes the entire year.  I use biotene mouthwash and artifical spit (that isn't the real name but that is what it is) it helps some, but not much.

Our daughter had the same thing happen to her computer.  My husband is an Electrical Engineer and he is trying some creative ways to work on it.  PM if you like and I can relay the problems you are having and see if he has any ideas.

Hope the day is better.

Kathy, don't give up on the stuff in your computer.  Take it to a computer repair place - often they can get back most, if not all, that was "lost".

Kathy,  Did you recover your hard drive?  Nothing worse than computer crashing.  I suck at backing up and I have tons of pics and what hurt me most, as I have never lost my pics is I lost all my music.  I had around 2,000 songs, accumulated over years.  I would take my computer camping and anywhere and only listen to music I loved.  It was so depressing, I have never been up to putting music on my computer since.  I miss it.  Use to listen to it when on AI.

I also have lost really important documents but it is still the music that hurts Argh.  I'm so sorry kathy.  I know I have stuff in my puter that I would be devasted if I lost.

Oy!  Don't ask what can happen next!!!  You don't want to find out!!  LOL!!!

I hope the stuff for your mouth your doc has you on works well and you feel better as soon as possible!

I got a new computer..boy I HATE vista..

A friend is working on getting everything off the hard drive. I talked to my local computer repair place and he gave me a bad case of the creeps the  way he was talking.. so I didnt go to him.

Recently, my husband got an external hard drive called "my book", to give us more room on the computer. He put all our pictures and documents on it. Many are irreplaceable.

He went to sign on and clicked on "my book" and it showed that it was not available. Even the manufacturer said he would have to take it to a recovery person to try to get everything back. We were quoted 0 - 00, to recover it!

I was messing around one day trying to see if I could find the files. I couldn't believe they were really gone. Just to be thorough, I clicked on my recycle bin, which we don't empty very often. I swear to you, EVERYTHING was there! All I had to do was click "restore" on everything and wa-la... it was back!

I obviously don't know much about computers, but sometimes dumb luck wins out. Worth a try.

Good luck,

Nini

my husband put vista on his laptop and he hated it at first . he is getting used to it now but it is definately not better than xp . i transfer all my photos onto a flash drive . that way if the computer crashes i wont use my pictures.
