Hi Guys!!
Sorry I have not been around much this past week. I have had a VERY busy week and a lot of walking!!
My brother and his friend came to visit for a week from California. So, I have been spending alot of time with them and my family.
He only comes to visit us every 2 - 3 years. We had some good times and some bad times this visit just like every other visit.
Last time they came to visit it was our oldest brother who was acting like a "BIG baby", because he wanted things and our brother to give into his every whime. So, needless to say that just put a damper on that visit.
This visit it was our oldest borther and our second youngest sister. Our oldest brother had to be right up under our brother, had to ride in the same car and go everywhere they went. He was starting to get on my brothers nerves. Oldest brother would get upset when there was no room for him in the same car my brother was riding in.
Then our second oldest sister well, that is a given each time they visit on how she is going to act. She kept coming down from where her daughters live and bring one of her daughters with her, but the catcher is they had to be back before 3pm everytime, so her daughter could be home when her hubby got off work?! Then my sister got upset because after my brother treated all the family 16 people to breakfast, he wanted to go take my daughter clothes shopping for her b-day present. And my sister got upset because he did not invite them to go shopping with us. So, while we were shopping for clothes she calls him on his cell and makes a BIG thing out of it. And then ends up telling him she does not want to speak or see him ever again.
See, many moons ago when all of us were kids -- me and my nieces -- when my brother would come visit he would spend thousands of dollars on us for clothes to make up for christmas, b-days, and so on. And well that is what my sister still expects him to do for her grandchildren as well. But he has decided that he was no longer going to spend that kind of money. So it upset her that he was buying my daughter clothes and none of hers. He did not even buy my son clothes, he probably would have if I mentioned I liked something for Andrew BUT, I did not he said MaryBeth's B-day present.
She claimed that he was not spending anytime with her family like he was with the rest. It might be because the first 2 days he was here her & her family were in Georgia at White Waters, and she knew they were coming down and said she was not changing their plans just because he was coming down. And the other days they had to be back where they lived by 3pm. She knows we do not ever go or do anything until almost noon. She also should know by now when they say we are going such and such a place that you are allowed to go as well, unless they say "good-bye" or "See ya tomorrow" or if they say they are going back to their hotel. Anywhere else is free to go as long as you have a way to get there.
That is only half the drama. I just thought that those were the most interesting highlights of the week....lol.
Hopefully he will come out and visit us again in another 2-3 years.
Just thought I would enlithen ya'll on how messed up my family is....lol
Joonie, I don't know a family that is not messed up........... Some just hide it better but I think they are probably the REALLY messed up ones - putting all that energy into hiding it
I just wanted to get that off my chest. All because of her, My brother might not come and visit us anymore, Because of all the drama that occurs while he is down.
I miss my brother. He is like a father to me. He is the one my mother said she thought he thought he was my father...lol. He has always treated my like his daughter and not his sister. I remember when I got pregnant with MaryBeth...I was more afraid to tell him I was pregnant then I was my mother. I tried to talk her into telling him, but she made me do it. It was the hardest thing I very had to do.
I figured he would be disappointed with me, but he did not act like it. He came down for my graduation, and I was 7 months pregnant when I graduated. I think he was just happy that I did graduate. I am the only person in my entire family that has an actual High School Diploma the rest have GED's.
Sounds like some sibling rivalry. Believe me every family has some dysfunction but you just try and love them anyway!The weird thing is he is not the big brother, he is the middle child. It is weird. But oh well.
