I guess you are wondering what I passed huh?

I got my driver's permit...lol. Yes, 26 yrs old and just got a driver's permit....lol.

I was just going to go for an ID card BUT I still had to stand in the same line and pay the same price as if it were for a driver's lisence or permit. So, I decided to pay the extra to take the written exam.

I had my brother that came from California to take me to get my permit. They only done written tests from 8:00 - 10:45 and I got number 7. The lady was only on number 3 and that was at 9 somthing. So I am sitting there looking at the people before me and well they look like they are not very good test takers. Then comes out and calls #'s 4 & 5, and just takes their information and has them sit back down. Then comes out and calls #6. Then allows all 3 to go in and take their tests. So I am sitting there waiting and then 15 mins later she comes out and tells everyone that she probably will not get to anymore people. So, I have #7 and I was sitting there looking at the number & thinking well your no lucky #7. Then like 5 mins before she is suppose to stop giving written tests she calls #7... WooHOooo!!!

So, I go in there and 2 of the guys #4 & #6 are still in there taking the 30 queastion multiple choice test. So, she is filling out my forms and asks for my . all I had was 20's and she could not break a 20. So, I asked her if I could step outsiode to get a 5 from my brother she said sure. I go out to look for him and he was off walking around the court house my daughter so, I called him up and told him I needed the before I took my test. I am waiting on him to come back and I see this guy with his daughter walking up to where i was and I knew him, just was not sure he knew me. He stops and looks at me and says "I know you.": I said yeah Hi Mr Graham. He said I had you in my 9th grade math class and I said sure did and even 10th grade math class too. So he comes in and comes back out waiting for his daughter and my brother still has not showed up so I asked Mr. Graham if he had change for a 20, he said sure and asked what I needed it for and I just stared at him with a smile on my face. He then said getting back your lisence? I said no. He said getting your driver's lisence? I said no. He then said do not tell me and started chuckling, no not your permit!!?? And I said yep and he said and how old are you? I said 26. He then said better late then never and wished me luck. So, I am sitting there it is 5 mins to 11 and well past time for road tests so I decide I will hurry up taking my test. I did not even read the questions I just looked at the answers and marked the one I thought it was, I was done in 5 mins.

She graded my papaer and I missed the very first one. I missed a total of 5 of a possible 6 to miss. Then she sent me on my way to get my pic took. That only took 10 mins.

Thursday my brother let me drive in Birmingham. I have a hard time doing left turns so he had me going around this block turning left for about 30 mins. I was starting to get dizzy...lol. My oldest sister was in the back seat laughing her ass off at me. she was making me nervous. My brother is a california certified driver instructor for school buses and charter buses. So, he kept telling me what I was doing wrong. My sister the whole time was laughing and alughing so hard she started coughing. And then she claimed if we did not find her a restroom she would pee herself, so I had to pull over to let him drive so we could find some where for her to go rest room and to help her stop laughing.

I need a lot of practice on my driving. The last time I drove was when I was 20. So, I am guessing I am not going to drive anymore. I cannot turn left it cut out to wide and in the other lane.

But now I do have a driver's permit, do not know how much good that will do me...lol.

Hey, that's great!!  Congratulations!!

Kelly

Hey Jooniper,

CONGRATULATIONS!!  26 is not too old for a license.  I think it is wonderful.  My mother didn't get a license until she was 70, so you can see what a child you are.  I have been trying to motivate my just-graduated son from H.S. to get his driver's license.  He has no incentive.  His pals drive him anywhere and everywhere and when he does drive, his Dad wants to charge him for the exorbitant car insurance.

Sorry to digress!  ...Way to go!!!!

Barb

WooHOO!! Molly Bee is now a groupie!!

Thanks Kelstev & Molly Bee!

Well, today hubby made me drive to my sisters house. I was not nervous at all. I actually done pretty good. My sister called us while we were on the way to her house to tell us she was going to get something to eat. So, we went where she was and then she followed me back to her house. And get this she was still laughing at me driving while driving behind me!!

She called up our mom while she was following me. She told mom:

Sis: Guess what Iam doing?
Mom: What?
Sis: Driving down the road.
Mom: Sarcastic voice Oh really!
Sis: Yeah, but guess who I am behind?
Mom: The car in front of you?
Sis: Yeah, but guess who is driving the car in front of me?
Mom: I give up
Sis: June! Chris let her drive all thru town and now to my house!!
Mom: Oh REALLY!! How is she doing?!
Sis: She likes to hug the right side, but doing better then when she was in Birmingham.

Roxy - I wish I could get my brother to teach me how to drive, but unfortunately he was only out here for a week. He is already back in California. And yeah they were both poking fun at me while I was driving. I do not really think it was her that was making me nervous, but just thought of driving in a very busy city.

Congratulations, thats fantastic! I love being able to drive. You won't know how you coped before hand when you can drive. I love my little car.

I envy you!! i have a provisional licence, but no car and nobody willing! lol.  and no money for lessons, but that will be first on list if i ever get disability living allowance granted!!!

woohoo! for you, you shoould be proud!

Keep practicing and when you get really good just blaze right past yours sis and wave.

Shawnie

Congratualtions!

Before long you will be picking Sis up to take her to get something to eat!

Thanks Everyone!

I believe I will get better at driving. Just need to practice.

Here's to learning how to drive!

Congratulations!  I love the freedom of driving and having my own car.  The last car I bought was from a little old lady who had severe osteoporosis and her license had been revoked.  She had shrunk so much she could barely see over the dash.  It was so horrible.  When we went to the credit union to finalize the paperwork, she cried.  I felt so bad.  She just couldn't stand the thought of not being independent anymore.  I think I'll feel the same way but I pray I never get the osteoporosis.  Bad Stuff!!!

Awwww...that is sad cristene. But it was probably the best thing to happen. Could have ended up much worst.

My mom does not have a car, but she has a driver's license. She depends on her church family and public transportation to get her where she needs to go. I believe she would be home more if she had her own car. As of right now I can hard find her at home!! LOL

HIYUH JOONI,

IT'S GOOD TO SEE A POST WITH SOME HUMOR! DID YOU KNOW THAT SOME PEOPLE THAT HAVE THEIR LEFT LEG LONGER THAN THE RIGHT HAVE TROUBLE GOIN TO THE LEFT.

GET OUT THE YARD STICK!!!!

ANYHOOOO, CONGRATS ON GETTING THAT PERMIT, AND LET ME KNOW WHEN YOU'RE GONNA BE ON THE ROAD AGAIN.

                              DON

Hey Donn!!

My left leg is actually shorter then the right. So, that means I should have a problem turn right?! I have not really tried to turn right yet...lol. I might have problems turn left and right?!

Watch out people new driver on the road!!

You go girl!!!

Congratulations!!!!!

Joonie; I am so proud of you girlfriend. This is going to open up a whole new world for you. Just wait until you feel the freedom it will bring.
