I've looked at a LOT of sites about PMR, but have never seen this one. You're right - this is a very good one. Thanks.

Reni

Reni did you get my PM?

I just realize you have PMR and RA. I have just yesterday received the bad new I have RA. (I had pain and stiffness in my hands for a year and thought it was the PMR returning)

What meds are you on right now ? I have Plaq in front of me and am scared to take it.

Marianne,

No, I did not get your PM. I do not have RA, though I think my rheumy keeps checking every time I see him. I had a blood test years ago, but was negative for rheumatoid factor. I did take plaquenil for about 6 months. My rheumy (not the present one) put me on it so I wouldn't have to be on prednisone.. She wasn't thrilled, nor was I, that I had gained 36 lbs. in less than a year. If you are on plaquenil, make sure to get your eyes checked every 6-12 months - mandatory - as plaq. can damage the retina (but if caught early, you can reverse the damage by lowering or quitting the plaq.). Also, if you don't have insurance for eye exams, like I don't, make sure your PCP refers you to an ophthalmologist for eye checks - that way it is covered by your regular medical insurance. I found that out too late, and paid for my exam.

That is still pretty high 42!

Yes I know about the eye checks.

Have you tried half an ambien (1/3 even works for me when I can't sleep) Don;t know what is worse though Ambien or what you take.

My sedrate is fine so is my RF factor ) ...go figure! Yes hoping it is a mild case. Just my hands are involved. I am secretely hoping it is PMR not RA. Reumy said hard to tell the difference.
