Over did Yoga, Yikes! | Arthritis Information

Hi, Well that wasn't so good. Overdid the yoga, did 'something to my back'....just what I need, and don't want to take muscle relaxants with mtx (yesterday). Honestly, ya just can't be too careful. It didn't seem like I was hardly even 'twisting' my back, modified it from what the young, limber instructor was doing!! But, today I'm having pains in my back and stiff. Dang!

You have to be extra careful with RA.  I started very slow.  I still break my yoga up into 3 sessions, 15 min (morning), 15 min (noon), and 20 to 30 mins (evening).  I don't push a posture past where my body resists...then gradually work on getting the full stretch over several weeks.  Don't try to keep up with the young kids...they're evil!

I am so stuck in the mindset of "use it or lose it" and I do stuff that I know I shouldn't be doing = lifting heavy stuff, moving or pushing furniture around etc and then I'm suffering for days later.
